What is the general PvP design philosophy in Mists of Pandaria?

Tom Chilton - We wanted to include more PvP content than ever before. With this expansion, we are adding two brand new battlegrounds with new game types. We have never done that at the beginning of an expansion. We also have a new arena to add to the current options. That brings our number of battlefields to ten and arenas to six.

Kotmogu Temple - Who has the relic now?

How is the war going to be recovered in World of Warcraft when it comes to PvP?

Tom Chilton -

Well, the best answer to that question is that we are very deliberately trying to get people back into the world, and in a PvP realm that means there will be more people to kill for the world. Generally speaking, the most fun outdoor PvP is the spontaneous conflict that happens as a natural result of people being in the world. They are not the things created by the designers.

Many players in PvE realms worry about being forced to play PvP or participate in world PvP when they don't want to. What can you tell them about the plans in this regard?

Tom Chilton - There are no plans to force players who are in PvE realms to play PvP. Their experience should not change and they will have the same opportunities to play PvP (if they want to participate) as now. It should also be mentioned that the Black Market auction house has the potential to become a world PvP venue for those playing in PvP realms. As the name suggests, these are merchandise sold in unsavory places, far from the inquisitive gazes of city guards. They are not neutral or safe zones. In PvE realms, there will not be the same risk to bid as in a PvP realm (apart from being exceeded).

Kotmogu Temple - Lots of room to run and run and run and run ...

On the other hand, PvP players fear that things won't go far enough and they won't get the world PvP they want; They often mention the problem of the guards in major cities, who hinder their ability to make these gangs. What can you tell them about this topic?

Tom Chilton - We know that for many PvP players, the idea of forming a large gang (or two) to invade a city can make for a great world PvP experience. We also know that there have been problems because the guards make this possibility less attractive, since the guards are now stronger. Obviously, we want those guards to be there doing their job, but we don't want them to be an insurmountable wall. That's why we plan to adjust the guards, only in PvP realms, so that they are not as strong as in a PvE realm, and so they do not respawn as quickly either. We are still working on it, but we hope to make this adjustment before the launch of Mists of Pandaria. It should be mentioned that the guards of the PvE realms will continue as before.

How is it possible to differentiate between types of kingdoms if it was not before?

Tom Chilton - The difference is in the technology available now and that we did not have before. As the game has evolved over the years, so have technology and our ability to find ways to implement that new technology, making our "what if" or "wouldn't it be great if" ideas come true. . With the changing of the guards, we believe that the entire game will change for those who love the idea of making bands to attack cities or areas and defend them against the "enemy". Beyond that, there is no difference, but with the new daily quest areas, they will be PvP hotspots on a regular basis.

Lonjaplata Mines - In what direction?

Will there be any major changes between the PvP and PvE realms in the future?

Tom Chilton - There is always the possibility. We first want to see how things are going with these changes. We don't want to promise any big plans right now, but we are always thinking of ways to improve the experience if possible.

Lonjaplata Mines - Up or down?

And the general idea that there are not enough people in the world to fight in PvP?

Tom Chilton - The new inter-kingdom zone technology that we recently included in the beta should also help fuel more PvP in the world.

Lonjaplata Mines- So close…

And the use of flying mounts? Many players are concerned about using flying mounts to avoid having to fight in PvP realms.

Tom Chilton - We know that concern exists and we have things in mind in that regard. For starters, we're limiting the use of flying mounts in Mists of Pandaria to level 90. Also, with so many players participating in the quest zones, we think there will be a lot more PvP in the world. After all, you have to land somewhere. If that's not enough, we have an item that players will be able to use from the ground that will allow an enemy player to be dismounted in flight (at a reasonable distance and marked for PvP). We are still discussing the details of the availability of this item.

Will there be a Conquest of Winter or Tol Barad for Mists of Pandaria?

Tom Chilton - No. We're trying to get people out into the world, and those areas ended up being more ranch-like than world PvP. We do not want to create another and end with the same type of game. That said, we have instead brought bosses out of the world who were previously in ranches like Baradin Hold. We think the appeal of killing a boss is a great boost to going out into the world and taking on PvP.

Could you make a summary of the new battlegrounds that are going to be added? What new styles of play can the two new battlegrounds offer players?

Tom Chilton - There are two new battlegrounds we've already talked about, each with a whole new kind of gameplay that wasn't available before.

The design of the Silverclaw Mines has remained largely unchanged since we discussed it at our Mists of Pandaria media event. Basically, players escort one of several mining carts to a warehouse to collect points. The strategic places will have levers that allow you to change tracks. The more people you help, the better, although you will also have to try to prevent or at least make it difficult for the opposing team to take their carts to a depot.

For our other battlefield, the Kotmogu Temple, we've made a few small changes since we talked about it at the event. We did some internal testing with just one artifact and found that the game turned into a kind of deathmatch in the center of the map. So we didn't just double the number of artifacts in play, we quadrupled it and ended up with four artifacts in different locations that could be used to score points. You still get more points by staying in the central area of the battlefield, but a lot more happens when you have to keep an eye out for four artifacts to deliver them to your team.

Will there be any change to the way we queue for battlefields?

Tom Chilton - Yes, we're adding a mechanism for players to reject two battlegrounds they don't want to see when queuing for random battlegrounds. The exception is if it is the battlefield of the call to arms. When that happens, you won't be able to decline that battlefield, but this will reduce your chances of participating in a battlefield that you don't like very much. It should also increase the chances that when a particular battlefield appears in the call to arms, you will be able to enjoy it more. We are also changing the way the call to arms works so that there is always a battlefield available with a call to arms. This will allow us to cover a greater number of battlefields regularly.

When will players be able to test the new battlegrounds for themselves?

Tom Chilton - We hope to have these new Battlegrounds in beta for everyone to try out in the next two weeks or so. We are looking forward to hearing from everyone and seeing how they work with a larger test group.

Will the sands change anything?

Tom Chilton - The truth is that if. Players will be able to see the class and specialization of their opponents before starting the fight, although they will not be able to see the selections of specific talents or glyphs. From there, it's like playing poker. You don't know what exact abilities your opponent will use, but you can modify your own talents in the scaling zone before the fight begins to try to anticipate what they might use.

Tol'vir Proving Ground- You deserve it?

Will anything change regarding rated battlegrounds?

Tom Chilton - At this time, we do not have any changes to the Rated Battlegrounds planned, although at some point we may decide to add the new Battlegrounds, Silverplate Mines and Kotmogu Temple.
