Patch 4.1 Notes on PTRs

Although we already announced the release of Patch 4.1, now we have something more official and more complete with changes to classes included. It has taken me a long time to translate it but… that's it!

Here you have the most important:

  • Zul'Aman is back as a 85-player Level 5 Heroic Dungeon with a complete dungeon overhaul and improved loot!
  • Zul'Gurub is back as a 85-player Level 5 Heroic Dungeon with new encounters, achievements, and improved loot!
  • Both dungeons will be at a higher difficulty level in Dungeon Finder, above the current level 85 heroic dungeons and will offer level 353 epic quality items.
  • These dungeons may only be partially available for testing for now. Stay tuned for additional changes.
  • Work has begun on a new guild search system. We will give more details when we are ready to receive feedback.
  • Spells bound to a key now begin to be cast when the button is pressed by default, instead of waiting for the key to go up. This option can be disabled in the interface menu in Combat. The mouse click has not changed and works when the mouse is released.

General

  • Flying mounts can now be used in Ghostlands
  • The temper scaling has been modified for linear results, rather than increasing the results. With the new formula, going from 30 Resilience to 40 gives the player the same survivability increase as going from 0 to 10. Resistance now scales in the same way that armor and magic resistances do. A player with 32.5% resilience damage reduction at 4.0.6 should see their damage reduction unchanged at 4.1. Those with less than 32.5% will win a little. Those with more damage reduction will lose a little although it will increase as their mettle does.
  • A dead player can be resurrected by marking them using the Party or Raid frames even if they have freed. No more searching for bodies.
  • Honor Points can now be purchased from Justice Point Vendors at the price of 250 Honor Points per 375 Justice Points.
  • Justice Points can now be purchased from Honor Point Vendors at the price of 250 Justice Points for 375 Honor Points.
  • Conquest Points can now be purchased from Valor Point Sellers at the price of 250 Conquest Points for 250 Valor Points.

Classes: General

  • All non-damaging interrupts outside of the Global Cooldown will always hit the target now. This includes Spanking, Shield Lash, Kick, Mind Freeze, Reprimand, Headbutt, Counterspell, Wind Slash, Sunbeam, Silencing Shot, and related pet abilities.
  • Several of the lingering effects that freeze now display different visual styles for hostile and friendly players. The following spells have the same visual effects for friendly players, but new visual effects for hostile players: Ring of Frost, Consecration, Desecration, Wild Mushroom, Power Word: Barrier, Smoke Bomb, and Hand of Gul'dan. As a general rule, alternate effects have a reddish tint or hue, indicating that they were created by an enemy player.

Death knights

  • Dark Simulacrum now works on numerous additional spells in dungeon encounters.
  • Raise Ally has been redesigned to be a combat resurrection, analogous to Reborn. It is instant cast, but costs 50 runic power to use and has a 10 minute cooldown. Shares the same global combat resurrection limit with Reborn and Soul Stone.
  • Howling Blast now has a facing requirement.
  • Talent Specializations:
    • Blood
      • Mortal Strike's self-heal no longer generates threat
      • Blood Shield now only works when in Blood Presence
    • Frost
      • Northern Blood (passive) now permanently converts both Blood Runes to Death Runes. There is no longer any proc interaction with Blood Strike required to activate Runes of Death.
      • Frost Strike now deals 130% of the weapon's damage, up from 110%.
      • Awakening Blast's damage has been increased by 20%. To compensate, the area of ​​effect splash effect now deals 50% damage to the target, up from 60%. The result of this change leaves the area of ​​effect damage on the same line as in Patch 4.0.6
    • Profane
      • Desecration no longer triggers when an applicable hit hits a target immune to root effects. This is primarily to prevent unnecessary spell effects from accumulating during boss encounters.
      • Rivendars Wrath applies an additional 15/30/45% damage to Scourge, Scourge Strike, and Festering again, up from 12/24/36%.
  • Glyphs
    • Glyph of Raise Ally is now Glyph of Gate of Death, making casting Gate of Death 60% faster.

Druids

  • Bloom now has a new spell effect.
  • The effect of the Flower of Life Flower has been reduced by 20%.
  • The duration of Stampede Roar has been increased to 8 seconds, up from 6. The movement speed effect has been increased to 60%, up from 40%.
  • Swipe (Bear) cooldown has been reduced to 3 seconds, down from 6.
  • Howl has a new icon
  • Druids now innately have 100% knockback protection from damage when channeling Tranquility.
  • Bloom has been redesigned. Creates a healing zone at the feet of the Swift Mend target, but this healing zone now restores health equal to 4/8/12% of the healing granted by Swift Mend to the three targets with the most damage within 8 yards each second for 7 seconds. This periodic effect now also benefits from spell haste, but individual ticks cannot be critical effects. Additionally, Living Seed is no longer a prerequisite talent for Bloom.
  • Threat bonus has been removed from Lacerate and has been replaced by an increase to the initial damage dealt.
  • Savage defense has been slightly redesigned. Now instead of absorbing a single charge, it sets an absorb effect on the druid that absorbs up to 35% of the druid's attack power (modified by mastery, where applicable) in damage and lasts for 10 seconds . The effect no longer has charges.
  • The cooldown of Flagellum (bear) has been reduced to 3 seconds, up from 6, and is now available for training at 18th level (training cost reduced). Additionally, the threat bonus from this ability has been removed and replaced with an increase in damage dealt.
  • Threat bonus has been removed from Thrashing and has been replaced by an increase in damage dealt.

Hunters

  • Blast Trap now has a new spell effect
  • Master's Call now has a new spell effect
  • Tame Beast now tames pets to match the hunter's level, up from 5 levels below
  • Multishot damage has been increased by 250%.
  • Summoned pets now start at 100. focus instead of 0.
  • Survival
    • Deterrence no longer requires a melee weapon to be equipped.
  • Pets
    • Bloodthirsty no longer generates happiness.
    • Scavenger no longer restores happiness
    • The Feed Pet ability now instantly heals for 50% of the pet's health. It cannot be used in combat. It requires food from the proper diet.
    • Watchdog no longer causes Roar to generate bonus happiness.
    • The pet's Happiness / Loyalty system has been removed. Hunters will no longer have to manage the happiness of their pets and the previous benefit that was obtained when pets were happy will now be the basis for all trained pets.
  • Glyphs
    • Glyph of Mend Pet is now a larger Glyph that increases pet size slightly.
  • Error correction
    • Distraction Shot and Multi Shot now have a correct range of 40 meters.
    • Multi-Shot now has a correct global cooldown of 1 second.
    • Hunters will automatically get a new target in case their target dies in the middle of a cast.
    • Aimed Shot y Steady shot they should no longer start casting Automatic shooting against a new target when the "Stop Auto Attack" option is activated.

Magi

  • Arcane Blast damage has been increased by 13%. Additionally, Arcane Blast's cumulative effect now increases the damage dealt by Arcane Explosion and Arcane Blast does not consume the effect.

  • Arcane Missiles damage has been increased by 13%.

  • Frost Armor has been rebuilt:
    • Now reduces physical damage taken by 15%, instead of giving an additional 20% armor.
    • Frost Armor's freeze effect can no longer trigger Fingers of Frost.
    • The attack speed reduction for the Freeze effect is now 20%, up from 25%, but it also affects the speed of ranged attacks.
  • Talent Specializations:
    • Arcane
      • Arcane Barrage's damage has been increased by 13%.
      • Improved Arcane Explosion now also reduces the mana cost of Arcane Blast by 25/50%.
    • Fuego
      • Ignition is no longer triggered by periodic critical effects
      • Combustion no longer has a global cooldown.
    • Frost
      • Shattered Barrier's rooting effect now shares diminishing returns with the effects of Improved Cone of Cold.
      • Ice Barrier's base damage has been increased by approximately 120%. Additionally, the benefit of spell power has been increased by approximately 8%.
      • Fingers of Frost damage bonus applied to Ice Lance has been increased to 25%, up from 15%.
  • Glyphs
    • Glyph of Frost Armor (new glyph): Frost armor now also causes the mage to regenerate 2% of his maximum mana every 5 seconds.

Paladins

  • Word of Glory now has a 20 second cooldown
  • Selfless Healing: The bonus damage from this talent now lasts for 30 seconds, up from 10.

      • Path of Light (passive) removes the cooldown of Word of Glory
      • Aura Mastery: This ability no longer increases the buff granted by Crusader Aura.

    • Protection
      • The cooldown of Divine Guardian is now 3 minutes, up from 2.
      • Great Crusader now generates a charge of Holy Power if Avenging Shield's effect is used within 6 seconds.
      • Now Sacred duty can be activated with Avenger's Shield in addition to the Sentences.
    • Rebuke
      • Divine Storm now generates 1 point of Holy Power if it hits (correctly) 4 or more targets.
      • Sacred Shield's internal cooldown has been increased to 60 seconds, up from 30.
  • Bug fixes.
    • Avenger's Shield can no longer be blocked.
    • The Righteous Judgment effect can no longer activate talents or other effects.
    • Seal of Truth: Fixed a bug in a tooltip stating that hitting targets with the maximum number of Censure doses would deal 9% of the weapon's damage. In fact, they do 15% of the damage and the tooltip has been updated accordingly.

Priests

  • Divine Aegis duration has been increased to 15 seconds, up from 12.
  • Dispel magic can only be cast on the casting priest as a base effect.
  • Holy Word: Sanctuary has a new spell effect.
  • The duration of Power Word: Shield has been reduced to 15 seconds, up from 30.
  • Inner Will and Inner Fire now last until canceled.
  • Holy Fire's damage has been increased to be approximately 30% higher than Smite.

  • Priests now innately have 100% knockback protection for damage when channeling Divine Hymn and Hymn of Hope.

      • Absolution (new passive) allows the priest to use Dispel Magic on up to two debuffs on friendly targets.

      • Now Cheat death reduces damage taken by 80%, up from 90%, while its effect remains active. Internal cooldown increased to 90 seconds, up from 60.

Shamans

  • Fire Nova has been redesigned and has been unleashed from the Shaman's fire totems. Instead, it now pulses the same area of ​​effect from each target that is affected by the Shaman's own Flame Shock effect. Now deals damage to all enemies except the target hit by Flame Strike. The ability's cooldown has been reduced to 4 seconds, down from 10.
  • Magma Totem now lasts 60 seconds, up from 21.
  • Stone Claw Totem's threat area effect no longer affects creatures (level 1 yellow)
  • Knockdown Totem's cooldown has been increased to 25 seconds, up from 15.
  • Talent Specializations:
    • Elemental combat
      • Earthquake is no longer a channeled spell. Now has a 2 second cast time, lasts 10 seconds, and has a 10 second cooldown. Its damage has been reduced by approximately 40% from its channeled version.
    • Constant improvement
      • Improved Fire Nova has been redesigned and replaced with a talent called Dry Winds. When an enemy spell is correctly prevented by Wind Slash or Tremor's Totem, the shaman gains mechanical magic resistance (in an amount equal to what an aura / totem of protection would give, stacking) with the spell's school interrupted (except for Spells sacred), which lasts 10 seconds.
    • Restaurants
      • Deep Healing now benefits all healings, not just direct ones.
      • Spirit Binding Totem (New Talent) reduces damage taken by the entire party or raid within 10 yards by 10%. It lasts 6 seconds and every second that all affected players are active, the health is redistributed among them, so that each player ends up with the same percentage of their maximum health. Witches

  • Rain of Fire's damage has been increased by 25%.
  • Seed of Corruption damage has been increased by 20%.
  • Talent Specializations
    • Affliction
      • Haunt damage has been increased by 30%
      • Shadow Mastery (Passive) has been increased to 30%, down from 25%.
      • Damage dealt when dispelled doubled Unstable affliction, but this damage can no longer be critical.
      • The damage dealt by Unstable Affliction when dispelled has been doubled, but this damage can no longer be critical.
    • Demonology
      • Feed Mana now restores more mana (four times as much) when the Warlock is using a Felguard or Felguard.
  • Pets
    • Doom Guard damage has been increased by 50%. The Apocalyptic Guard is thought to be the best guardian for a single target, and the Infernal the best when there are multiple targets.

  • Charge and Intercept no longer have diminishing returns on their stun effects.

  • Overwhelm's damage has been increased to 140% of Weapon damage, up from 125%.
  • Summoning Scream (new ability) is available from trainers at level 83. Temporarily grants the warrior and all members of his party or raid within 30 yards 20% of maximum health for 10 seconds. After the effect expires, health is lost. It has no cost or attitude requirement and is not on the global cooldown. It has a 3 minute cooldown, but it also shares a cooldown with Last Stand.
  • Whirlwind now has its cooldown reduced by 6 seconds when dealing damage to 4 or more targets. The effect of Whirlwind caused by Bladestorm.
  • Heroic Throw is now available from trainers at level 20.
  • Spanking can now be used on all poses.
  • Shield Lash has been removed from the game.
  • Spell Reflection cooldown has been increased to 25 seconds, up from 10.
  • Colossal Smash now ignores 50% of a hostile player's armor (PvP), but continues to ignore 100% of a non-player character's armor (PvE)
  • Heroic jump It is no longer included in the global cooldown, like other warrior movement abilities.
  • Talent Specializations:
    • Weapons
      • Improved Slicing now reduces Slicing's global time by 0.5 / 1 seconds in addition to its current effects.
      • Improved Slam increases Slam damage by 20/40% instead of 10/20%.
      • Irresistible Force no longer adds two seconds to Charge's stun, but reduces the cooldown of Charge by 3 seconds (to 12 seconds total).
      • Mortal Strike's damage has been increased to 17% of the weapon's damage, up from 150%.
      • Irresistible Force no longer adds 2 seconds to Charge's stun, but instead reduces the cooldown of Charge by 2 seconds (to 13 seconds total without the glyph).
      • Lambs to Slaughter now causes Mortal Strike to refresh Rend in addition to its current effects.
      • Opportunity Strike damage has been increased by 10% to maintain attribute parity with other hit changes.
      • The value of Opportunity Strike per Mastery Point has been increased by 10%.
      • Improved Slash now reduces the global cooldown on Slash by 0.25 / 0.5 seconds in addition to its current effects.
    • Furia
      • Raging Blow's damage has been increased back to 120% weapon damage (was 100%)
      • Flurry haste bonus has been doubled to 16/32/50%.
      • Indomitable Fury now only grants 2 base Mastery points instead of 8. This change offsets Flurry's buff to control Fury's explosive damage.
      • Accuracy (Passive) now increases auto-attack damage by 40%, in addition to the 3% currently offered.
    • Protection
      • Shield Mastery no longer affects the cooldown of Spell Reflection, however, it now allows Shield Block to reduce magic damage as well.
      • Gag Order now only affects Heroic Throw.
      • Now Gag order It applies to Spanking y Heroic throw, and gives these abilities a 100% chance to silence the target for 3 seconds. What's more, Gag order Reduces the cooldown of Heroic Cast by 30 seconds.

Dungeons and Raids

  • Dungeon Finder
    • Dungeon Finder now tries to avoid putting classes that deal damage with the same armor type in the same group.
    • Players will now earn additional rewards 7 times per week (while earning less than 980 Valor Points) instead of once per day when using the Dungeon Finder).
    • When there is only 1 player left in the Dungeon Finder party, they can now queue up for replacement while queuing for at least 2 minutes or staying in the dungeon.
    • The Call to Arms will now identify which class role is currently least represented in the queue and offer you additional rewards for entering the Dungeon Finder queue and completing a random level 85 dungeon.
    • The icon for the underrepresented class will appear in the dungeon finder to indicate the role that is eligible for the bonus reward.
    • Players must queue with only the least represented class (by the system) and complete the dungeon up to the final boss included in order to get the reward.
    • The additional reward will be displayed to the additional classes in the User Interface.
    • Once the dungeon is complete, the eligible player will receive a Wallet of Exotic Mysteries (linked to account) with various potential rewards, including: gold, rare gems, vanity pets, and mounts (very rare).
  • Blackwing Descent
    • Blinding Bomb (Golem Sentry Ability) now has a clearer visual alert
    • Magmaw now triggers a raid alert when summoning Lava Parasites.
    • Improvements have been made to the Maloriak encounter to prevent Hasty Freeze from targeting tanks.
    • atramedes
      • Searing Flames now causes a 6 second cooldown on Modulation.
      • Searing Flames no longer increases Sound on players.
      • Players should no longer be able to avoid Searing Flames' first period of damage and this ability now deals damage every 2 seconds. Searing Flame's damage has been increased to compensate for it dealing damage less frequently.
    • Nefarian
      • Fire Bomb Barrage's damage has been reduced by 15% (Normal and Heroic 10-player difficulty only)
      • Tail Lash damage reduced by 20% (Normal and Heroic 10 player difficulty only)
  • The Bastion of Twilight
    • Valiona and Theralion
      • Blackout can now be dispelled on Heroic Difficulty.
    • Cho'gall
      • Blood of the Old God's health on the 10-player Heroic difficulty has been reduced by approximately 20%.
      • The health of Darkened Creations on the 10-player Heroic difficulty has been reduced by approximately 20%.
      • Corruption: Accelerated 10-player Heroic difficulty has been slightly reduced.
      • Knockdown and Deadly Pull abilities can now be used to interrupt players who have been converted by Cho'gall.
  • The amounts of gold in the following encounters have been substantially reduced: Flame Leviathan, Magtheridon, Gruul the Dragon Slayer, Doom Lord Kazzak, and all encounters in Karazhan.

The North Massacre

  • Gordok's Yard Key in Fengus's Chest regenerates after a few seconds.

The Mechanar

  • The Legion Cache now unlocks when the Giromata Gatekeeper is turn-eliminated.

Uldaman

  • The Staff of Prehistory is no longer required to open the doors in the map room.
  • Baelog's chest has received new loot. If it's gray that's fine, right?

Zul'Farrak

  • Executioner's Keys are no longer required to open Troll cages.

Blackrock Caverns

  • Arcane Celerity Aura now has a clearer visual aspect of the wearer of the aura.
  • Bound Flames no longer create lava puddles when killed in the Karsh Ironbend encounter.
  • The range of the Short Throw ability used by Twilight Sadists has been reduced to 10 meters.

The Mines of Death

  • Zone of Rage cast by Defias Blood Dowsers now only increases damage dealt, no longer increases damage taken.

Grim batol

  • General Umbriss's Bleeding Wound damage reduced by 20%.
  • Evil Troggs now move more slowly.
  • Forgemaster Throngus's Overcharged damage bonus reduced by 50%.
  • Summoned Flame Spirits should prefer to target non-tank targets.
  • The Twilight Flame Zone has been removed from the Twilight Drake.
  • The cooldown portion of the Arcane Distortion buff cast by the Seers of the Blue Hatchling has been removed.

The Stone Core

  • Ground Slam now has a visual effect on the ground before launch in front of Ozruk. Additionally, Ground Slam damage and radius have been reduced.
  • High Priestess Azil's Earthquake Fragment now has a more obvious visual warning effect.

The Vortex Summit

  • The knockback effect of the Air Nova ability that triggers when a burst soldier dies has been reduced.
  • Now Altairus appears near the center of his platform, away from the edge.
  • Temple Adepts and Air Ministers now wait 2 seconds before starting to cast spells when first attacked.

Wailing Caves

Guild Challenges

  • Guild Challenges available for testing.
    • These challenges are found in the Info panel of the guild interface.
    • Guild Challenges are divided into three categories: Dungeons, Raids, and Rated Battlegrounds.
    • Each challenge can be completed a certain number of times per week. Guild groups participating in Heroic or Normal difficulty dungeons and raids of the appropriate level, or rated battlegrounds, will automatically be eligible for Challenge Credit.
    • Each time a challenge is completed, the guild will earn experience and a gold reward will be deposited directly into the Guild Chamber, as well as the option to earn new achievements.
