We have recently learned of the release of the next patch 6.2.3, which is now available in the PTRs as of today. One of the main features of the patch is the Item Upgrades with Valor Points.
Upgrade Items with Valor Points
This characteristic is not something new, since we already live it in the Mist of Pandaria patch 5.4.8. Remember the team high? Well, in this next patch we will experience something similar, with the difference that each improvement that we apply to our objects will raise us 5 points with a maximum of two applicable improvements per object, that is, the object level will increase by a maximum of 10 points.
In patch 5.4.8:
All upgradeable epic quality items introduced in Patch 5.4 (items found in The Siege of Orgrimmar and Timeless Isle) can now be upgraded 2 more times, for a total of 16 item levels.
In patch 6.2.3:
All of the items you've already earned in Hellfire Citadel, items crafted from Grim Marks in the Tanaan Jungle, and all the loot from the Draenor dungeons, can be selected to upgrade your gear by 5 item levels at a time, and up to twice per item for a potential 10-level item upgrade.
How do I earn value points?
We had lost the habit of looking for companions to perform the daily heroic dungeon, right? Well, start over, we will even have to queue in the raid finder even if no object is any longer useful, at least if we want to quickly complete the object upload.
- Completing the first random heroic dungeon of the day, 100 x Valor Points.
- Completing Mythic Dungeons, 100 x Valor Points.
- Completing weekly missions from the bonus events, 500 x Valor Points.
- Completing a Raid Finder Wing in Highland, Blackrock Foundry, or Hellfire Citadel for the first time each week, 75 or 100 x Valor Points.
Where do I spend my value points?
You can go to your nearest ethereal merchant, either in Orgrimmar, Stormwind, Shrine of Two Moons, Seven Stars, or Storm Shield and War Spear.
You can upgrade your gear with 5 item levels at a time, and up to twice per item for a potential 10-level item upgrade.
