Aesthetic comparison of Sets: Arenas from T4 to T8

For a long time, the artisans of the Horde and the Alliance, have forged their best armor for each class, keeping the brave heroes who fight for the honor of their faction, with the best possible performance. Both statistics and design have evolved from the first set until now, as the artisans have been able to pour all their new experience into each new set they have made for each season.

Now that we have reached the end of the arena season for this expansion, we wanted to show you from the last set of The Burning Crusade (Season 4) to the last set of Wrath of the Lich King (Season 8). We hope you can appreciate the great work that the artisans have done and now understand the meaning of this evolution.

Sorcerer

witcher_temporadas_t4_t8

We noticed the difference of the Arenas set from season 4, especially in the design of the shoulder pads, which bring us a slight memory of the Arakkoa and their feathers.

In the Northrend sets, we can observe the change in the toga and the use of skull icons, which takes us even further into the world of the undead of the plague that devastates the Continent. It reaches its peak with set 8 where the helmet becomes a skull and the shoulder pads become more aggressive.

Keep reading to know the comparison of all the classes ...

Hunter

hunter_season_t4_t8

Hunter Set 4 is clearly inspired by the dungeons of the Crooked Fang Reservation, with its pipes and scaly Nagas skin.

The Northrend sets, austere at first, have a clear tendency to use objects (fangs and skins) of the animals that populate, above all, the coldest areas.

Shaman

shaman_temporadas_t4_t8

Like the hunter season 4 set, the shaman set is also reminiscent of the Nagas and their scaly skin, probably because they are both mail gear.

In the Northrend sets we see a clear evolution. Personally, remember the frozen lands and how the Shaman manages to dominate the element in the last set giving it a more aesthetic form, with a design of fire and ice.

Death Knight

dk_seasons_t4_t8

This class, which appeared with the Lich King expansion, therefore does not have T4. In the sets that have been developed for this class we can see how in its evolution it comes closer and closer to the design of Arthas's armor. With the detail of a greater freezing in the edges of the pieces of plates.

Druid

druid_season_t4_t8

The set of the fourth season of Arenas seems to be made in Shadowmoon, with details that we can find in the Black Temple.

Among the following sets we can realize that in set 8 the design of the skirt is far from its previous models, it is a difference that we only find in this class. A very clear evolution of the helmet and shoulder pads is appreciated. Where the shoulder pads become more aggressive.

Guerrero

warrior_season_t4_t8

As plate armor, it bears an almost total similarity to the Paladin Season 4 set. With the bird heads that decorate the armor, reminiscent of the birds that populate the Terokkar Forest. The helmet with these horns may be the design origin of the Death Knights tier. Or perhaps, they are a preview of a dk design that would already be defined.

The warrior evolves in Northrend into extremely offensive gear, where even his shoulder pads become threatening advancing objects, like claws that both protect and attack.

Wizard

wizard_season_t4_t8

We found a design equal to that of the witcher in season 4, as we will see with the priest, these three sets provoke a feeling of unity as kinds of cloth.

In Northrend, an austere wizard arrived, who little by little has developed a synchrony with his arcane powers with which he reinforces his team.

Paladin

paladin_season_t4_t8

As we pointed out with the warrior, this plate armor has bird heads that decorate the armor, reminiscent of the birds that populate the Terokkar Forest. And their helmets, as I explain in the warrior, with those horns, may be the design origin of the Death Knights tier. Or perhaps, they are a preview of a dk design that would already be defined.

Like all kinds of plates, mainly, the paladin arrives in Northrend with simple equipment, as well as dark. Little by little the helmet closes for greater protection, as well as the shoulder pads that rise. On the other hand, the color of the armor is clarified as a symbol of an approach to the Light and what this means moving away from the darkness of the undead of the Plague that devastates the Continent.

Rogue

picaro_seasons_t4_t8

Like the druid, the rogue class uses leather as equipment material and in its Arenas season 4 set it is matched to its fellow druid at design time.

Back in Northrend, the rogue, takes a distinctly different path. The helmet that evolves towards a total closure until its end in season 8. The shoulder pads, which as in many of the classes, take on a much more aggressive look. As well as its chest that is reinforced with an extraordinarily strong embossing.

Priest

season_priest_t4_t8

Like the witcher and wizard, the priest has the same design in season 4, giving these three kinds of cloth an aesthetic unity.

In the case of the priest in Northrend, if we notice an approach, not so much to the mage class, as to the mages of the Kirin Tor. Influenced by Malygos and his Arcane ley lines.

Thus we can say that while in the final set of Arenas de Outland the model was guided by the type of material with which they were made, in Northrend Each class has found a path related to their abilities to design their kit.

Notes:
We have used the model of the human race, as it seemed to us that it was the most indicated to correctly observe the details of the design.
The comments after each class set are personal opinions based on what I have been able to observe.
