Introduction to role-playing in World of Warcraft

cats_druids_hearts

Greetings, woweros! I introduce myself, I am Nysiah, an intelligent, beautiful, kind, friendly elf who lives in Los Errantes, that wonderful role-playing server that has given so many joys and still has to give.

You will wonder, "And what does this kind elf come to sell us, how good is that servant?"

More or less.

I come to tell you about the role in WoW, and to do so I must talk about Los Errantes for the most part. So yeah, I'll try to sell you a little fish about the role, and indirectly, about our server.

You can call it, if you like, a "Role Guide." I will try to delve into the subject later or perhaps other days, if there is the possibility, but let's go in general and basic in case you ever want to get into the role.

For this I will have the invaluable help of the human who handles me, who is not as intelligent, kind and friendly as I am.

Wow, thanks Nys… very kind. After this great presentation of my "dearest" elf, let's get down to business.

What is the role?

The role is to play a character, in accordance with the environment that surrounds him, and with the rest of the people that he may meet while advancing in his adventures. Live your adventures as if they were really yours, that they were happening to you. Said like that, it seems that it doesn't have much difference with what you usually do in PvE and PvP, since they are also the adventures of your own character.

Let's give an example:

Stormwind Dungeons

While for one who is dedicated to PvE, it can be just a place to find objects whenever you want, for a role-player it would be to interpret it as if his character was in that real jail, killing poor Defias and insurgents until he found the ringleader. , to which you will have to give it what it deserves. And all this you could tell someone else later in a tavern, with a good dwarf beer on the table, celebrating that you are still alive. And all this, interpreting it, as I said at the beginning, either through the / do channel, putting emotes through / e.

[Nysiah] says: Yeah, yeah ... great fun ... How about a summary after so much talk, stupid human?

Hmpf… It would simply be like moving tabletop role-playing games (from Dragons and Dungeons of a lifetime) to WoW itself, making it more dynamic as it is a live game.

Many times, whether it is talking to people from other servers, or to other people, when I tell them that I role-play, they think that this is just talking saying "Beautiful damsel", "Your beauty dazzles me like the sun", "Oh, mighty gentleman , help this lady in distress ", or as Peter Griffin would say," You ... bird in hand ... what a hundred, flying. "

Medieval style.

Rolling, obviously, is not talking like that. Yes, you can if you want your character to be cloying, but I have yet to find anyone who walks the streets of Stormwind or Silvermoon like this yet.

Of course, a little good writing is appreciated. No one would take a hero who said “Hey man, why are you sad? Let's have some beers, which I pay XDDD "

Rolling is not walking slowly either. That is, making the character go slow instead of running.

Walk slowly and speak pompously. I think that's the basic stereotypes that other woweros have of us. That and that we are frikazos, which at least I will not doubt because it is a pride Laughing

The History

The main thing to start role-playing is to invent a story for your character.

He may be a warrior dwarf who is fascinated by beer and fights to protect his land, and who believes that honor comes before all else, a human thief who steals from passersby in Stormwind to pay for his sister's medicine. sick, or a pretty low-brained and somewhat ignorant elf who spends the day in Silvermoon because she's too cowardly to go out to ...

[Nysiah] says: Hey!

Oh, easy, my dear ... I was not going for you far from it.

Obviously they can be very elaborate or not very elaborate stories. In my particular case, I prefer not to make them too elaborate, and that the characters "create" themselves as they progress in their own adventures. It would be something like writing the story as it progresses, and not before.

But that is to everyone's taste, of course.

Where to start role-playing?

If you are new to the server and know absolutely nothing or anyone, your place is the cities. (or the official forums of the kingdom, where you can find out) By number of people, the most “populated” by RPGs are Stormwind and Silvermoon. There, if you search, you can find people playing their characters. And if you can't find it, you always have the taverns in the city, where you will surely find someone.

I have to say that these taverns are not very recommended because ... there is everything. Both good and bad. Undoubtedly there you can learn to interpret, if with some luck, you find someone to guide your steps a little, but perhaps I do not recommend going through them much. There are too many things that can confuse you if you don't know anything about the role and are new to it.

Stroll through the cities. Take a walk or two, and don't despair if you don't find someone at first. They will end up leaving.

[Nysiah] says: And you can always chat with me, if you're handsome and strong enough ...

Ehmmm ... up to here you have to be flirting with others?

Did I forget something?

Well ... you have the main thing to start role-playing. It's that easy. No more is needed. A history, no matter how small, people around you with which to interpret, and above all, many, many, many eager to learn. Because it is so. There are many problems and mistakes that you can make, especially in the first days. Some you will see for yourself, and others may get a little more bloodied.

But anyway, I'll delve deeper into those little issues the next time we meet around here. If they don't kick me out ...

[Nysiah] says: You wouldn't surprise me, human. They end up kicking you out of all the places they enter, hee hee hee.

He spoke to the one who is prevented from entering the auction house due to public scandal.

[Nysiah] says: Hey… nobody told me that dancing naked was illegal. Let's fight for a free Silvermoon! Clothes off! Go! … Huh? Why are you taking me? I have done nothing wrong! Let go of me! You are corrupt!

Oh… (sigh). I'm afraid I can't stay any longer for today, I have a mad elf to get out of jail.

Until next time! Do not hesitate to criticize / ask what you want. And don't hesitate to visit us at Los Errantes either!
