Guide to the Spine of Deathwing / Spine of Deathwing, is the first of the two clashes against Deathwing in the Dragon Soul / Dragon Soul raid. The battle begins in the Dragonblight as players can jump onto the back of Deathwing, trying to weaken his armor enough for his allies to attack, and ends when he is defeated and crashes into the Maelstrom. When Deathwing first channeled the power of the Dragon Soul against the rest of the Flights, such massive forces were unleashed that they nearly dismembered him. Rather than give up this weapon, he had adamantium plates placed on his scales to keep his body intact. Later he reinforced those plates with elementium, which have now become his only weakness, the only vulnerable point of the deadly Deathwing.

This is the first fight against Deathwing and takes place on his back, a site where he has been wounded by Thrall using the Dragon Soul. From their wounds, they will appear as soon as the combat begins, a tencaculum from each one of them. For every dead tentacle, a subordinate named Hideous Amalgamation appears. This subordinate will be placed on top of the boss, we will kill two more tentacles and two more subordinates will come out that will be placed on the opposite side. Now from those three holes Corrupted Blood will appear, those slugs have to be tapped by the tank that only has one subordinate.
The raid has to do DPS to the subordinate who is only with slugs, when he is about to die, we will have to kill nine slugs so that he enters Superheated Nucleus, during this state, if he is killed he will cast Nuclear Blast and raise a piece of the Deathwing armor, exposing a tendon that we will have to kill in a limited time. This operation will have to be repeated one more time to kill the other tendon and detach the plate permanently. This has to be repeated until all the plates of the spine of Deathwing are finished.
Every time a plate is detached, new tentacles will appear, so we will have more subordinates and there will come a time when we will have few subordinates and a lot of slugs, so it is a good idea to use one tank for the subordinate and another for the slugs. The surplus subordinates we will have to expel. For them, we place the entire raid on top of a hole in a tentacle, there he will put a debuff on us and we will stay stuck in it, as we are all on one side, we will make Deathwing turn and all the subordinates fly away. In total you have to raise 3 plates, that is, you have to blow up 6 subordinates.
