The guys from Gamespy have had the opportunity to interview Chris Metzen. For those of you who don't know who this man is, we can say that he is Blizzard's Vice President of Creative Development. His duties include coordinating the art teams and lore of all Blizzard franchises. He will also co-produce World of Warcraft: The Movie.

Little by little the film progresses and, as always, the information will come to us by dropper. If you want to know more about Sam Reimi and the film, do not hesitate to visit the information that Skozz collected. The original interview, in English, you can read it here.

GameSpy: You just made the big announcement that Sam Raimi will direct the World of Warcraft movie. You are co-producing, what are your thoughts on the ad?
Chris metzen: We are all very, very excited about the announcement. We have waited a long time to announce a director. We have been with Legendary for a number of years and we have toyed with many ideas, we have waited for the right personalities and the perfect chemistry. It's a bit surreal that we finally made the announcement. It's finally like, "Come on, it's official, here we go." We are looking forward to this continuing and seeing things start to take shape.

GameSpy: Was Sam Raimi one of the initial directors you were considering?
Chris metzen: We have talked about a lot of people and certainly their name was one of the first to be heard. We are all big fans of "Spider Man" and all its Horror content like "The Army of Darkness" which is one of my favorite movies. Sam is one of those folks who gets away with Spider-Man, in terms of handling licensed product and all the geeky fanfare. The passion of the fan world has really translated that into something that everyone can love with a lot of heart. All of that were really important components for us in terms of translating a license, in building a cinematic experience that speaks to the license but that everyone really loves. This was very, very important to us so he was the perfect manager.

GameSpy: Warcraft will be a live action movie. Don't you think your cinematic crew could have made a great movie?
Chris metzen: What I will say is that I am one of the biggest fans of our cinematic department and I love everything they do and work on all of this too. But at the end of the day, for a movie, we want something that captures the imagination of the world and I think you need life, actors who breathe, in some way, bring accessibility and excitement. I'm really excited to see real action take shape. But I'm a huge fan of our animations, and who knows what we'll do along the way.

GameSpy: The fan community trusts you to ensure that the movie remains true to Warcraft. Are you prepared to say it will be?
Chris metzen: Of course! Undoubtedly.

GameSpy: What excites you the most about co-producing the film?
Chris metzen: What I like the most is that the film introduces you to the world. It feels like a fan experience and for a couple of years now, you sit in a theater and you're like, 'They did it. They made it. This seems original. It won't be like playing with your Level 12 Night Elf Hunter specifically, but the familiarity, the places, the characters, the stories will all be contiguous and in line with your expectations. That is my great hope.
