Discovering Azeroth: Talador

Discovering Azeroth Talador

Talador is situated in the center of Draenor, hosting the City of Shattrath and the Draenei Soul Rest, Auchindoun. It is the point of greatest concentration of the Draenei civilization. It is a map with a lot of vegetation and green forest, in which we will find orange and golden hues that give a glimpse of what in the future will be the Terokkar forest.

We will reach Talador from Gorgrond followed by the Iron Horde. The first thing we will do is establish our position by creating a outpost of our citadel in Talador, north of the city of Tuurem. Fort Wrynn, if we are Alliance and, if we are Horde, the Pride of Vol'jin.

We will have to choose between two structures, the benefits of which will help us enter Talador, the Torre de Magos and the Torre de Artillery.

This is a zone for level 94-96 but, as in the other zones, we will return to it at level 100.

History (Spoiler)

In Talador we will find a very difficult situation due to the dangers that threaten it. On the one hand the Iron Horde wants to take over the city of Shattrath, given its value as a strategic location on Draenor. We must prevent it at all costs since, if the Iron Horde takes over the city, nothing will prevent the entire artillery force that the Blackrocks manufacture in the Foundry and the troops waiting in the Tanaan Jungle from reaching it. much easier to spread across all of Draenor.

After establishing our base, we will advance in the area accompanied by Yrel and Maarad if we are Alliance and, by Durotan and Draka if we are Horde.

As we prepare for the defense of Shattrath, we discover that one of the generals of the Iron Horde is Orgrim Doomhammer. This scene is shocking for everyone, but especially for Horde players, as we remember that Orgrim is like a brother to Durotan. In our journey we will see how Durotan tries to make Orgrim see reason, but he turns his back on him saying that he has chosen the wrong side in the war.

On the other hand the threat of the Sargei, a sect of draenei aligned with the Council of Shadows to carry out Gul'dan's plans. In her name, it is Teron'gor himself who threatens to assault Auchindoun in order to consume the souls of the Draenei resting there. If he succeeds, he will achieve such power that he must not fall into mortal hands. It will be Exarch Maaladar who is in charge of leading the Auchenai to defend Auchindoun and stop the waves of death.

We will face the Iron Horde in the "Battle for Shattrath". In this mission and through a feat, we will reach the port of Shattrath and witness how Black Fist destroys Orgrin Cursedhammer.

Although we believed that Orgrin had not listened to Durotan, it seems that in fact he did. This was what led him to showdown with Blackhand, since he did not want to shed innocent blood, and to his own death.

At this point we will see one of the cinematics, in my opinion, more emotionally charged Until now.

We are on board one of the ships of the Iron Horde with Maarad, Yrel and Durotan when it is shaken by a loud explosion. From the port the rest of our allies believe that we have died due to the magnitude of the coup. In a last heroic act, Maarad protects Yrel and saves her, but he is mortally wounded. His last words are: "In the light ... we are ... one."

Yrel

Yrel

Yrel's quick interpretation of this message saves Durotan, who is currently being attacked by Blackhand. Yrel catches the attention of Blackhand by striking his back with the weapon of the late Maarad, he takes advantage of that moment of distraction to heal Durotan and provoke the fury of Blackhand when, in response to his question: What do you want little one? She says: Your head!…with that characteristic draenei accent.

Oh God! That was epic!

At that moment she is attacked by Black Fist, and it is Durotan who comes to their aid, throwing his ax so that Yrel finally deals a strong blow with it on Blackhand's neck.

Although it is not enough to defeat him, if he wins us just enough time to khadgar can teleport us out of the ship before bombarding it and sending it to the bottom of the sea. The only drawback is that this time is also used by Black Fist to escape.

In this cinematic we clearly see how the main characters of both the Alliance and the Horde see the need for the union of both factions to face the Iron Horde.

What can we find

Talador welcomes in its bosom the most emblematic city of Draenor, Shattrath city. We will find it besieged and half destroyed but, we will see that it is much larger than we remember from our timeline. From there we can deduce that what we know as the city of Shattrath in the Terokkar forest, are just the remains of the great city that we will find in Talador.

auchindoun

Auchindoun Dungeon

In Talador we will also have access to the dungeon of Auchindoun, sacred mausoleum of the draenei. A tabernacle of light in which the dead find rest. Its crystalline structure also serves to protect and shield souls from its eternal enemies: The Burning Legion and its insatiable appetite for draenei spirits. This makes this place a site of special interest to Gul'dan and his Shadow Council.

In addition, in Talador there is also the tower of Archmage Khadgar, in Zangarra, which we will visit often to complete the chain of missions of the Legendary Ring.

Fauna and Flora

Flora and Fauna

In Talador we will find  numerous creatures who make their home in this great forest. As are the stalkers that can change the color of their skin to camouflage themselves; the terogarras, flying beasts that dominate the skies of Talador, rather than the rylaks found in many other parts of Draenor. We will also see lots of moths surrounding aquifers full of electric eels, poison frogs and even river beasts.

In addition to a large forest, as we have already said throughout the article we will find two icons of Draenei building that give an incredible aspect to the area if we combine it with the great variety of colors, the city of Shattrath and the Auchindoun soul rest.

Curiosities

In Talador we will find a village of draenei refugees, among them is Decepcia, a draenei that seems to be giving us a mission but, as we get closer, the entire town flies through the air. Among the remains we will find Decepcia's smoking boots, a toy that we can add to our collection. This scene seems to be a reference to the game "Marranos en Guerra", in which when a pig dies, it explodes, and only the boots are left fuming.

Near the city of Shattrath we will find two rather unique orcs. One is called Goh'kuu (Goku) and the other as Napp'agosh (Nappa). This seems like a clear nod to "Dragon Ball."
