Discovering Azeroth: Spiers of Arak

Discovering Arak

The Spiers of Arak encompass a large area south of Draenor. It is an area that alternates huge peaks that almost touch the sun, with forests plunged into shadows. In the same way we will find its inhabitants, The Arakkoa.

We will arrive at the Summits of Arak from Talador, passing through a strait full of cliffs that already lets us glimpse the geography of the place; by advancing a bit in the first missions of the map we will get to see for the first time the high peaks that support the Celestial Tract. Beautiful first sight, of course.

In Summits of Arak we will also have to build an outpost, having to choose between the Trader's Lair and the Stoktrom Brewery.

As we pass through the Summits of Arak, which we will start at level 96, we will reach level 98 with ease. We will visit the area again once we reach level 100.

History

To better understand the history of this map it is necessary to put ourselves in the background. Where do the winged Arakkoa come from? Well, in the beginning, the sky was divided between three gods, Anzu, Sethe and Rukhmar. One fine day Sethe decided that he wanted heaven for himself and planned to attack Rukhmar; For this he wanted to have Anzu, the raven god, but he betrayed him and warned Rukhmar, deity of the Kaliri.

At the time of the fight Anzu helped Rukhmar and gave the coup de grace to Sethe, this one, before dying, pronounced a curse.  His blood and his body would rot everything and corrupt the earth. To which Anzu replied that then it should not leave any blood or body and ate it. But there is always some remainder ... in this case the remains form what we know as the Sethekk count.

Anzu began to be affected by the curse and lost the ability to fly, then decided to hide in the shadows.

Winged arakkoa

Winged Arakkoa

For his part, Rukhmar created a new race of children in his image and likeness but, to honor Anzu, he would also be a more intelligent race than his former children, the Kaliri. From here arise the winged Arakkoa.

This new society had its capital in the Skyreach and was led by a king. A king, a great champion, Terokk. It was so good that it was said to be the reincarnation of the goddess Rukhmar herself.

This generated envy among the sages or nobles of the capital Arakkoa and they decided to banish him.

Terokk

Terokk

They dumped him into the Sethekk Basin along with his followers. Then Terokk was affected by the curse of Sethekk, losing the condition of flying and also affecting his senses.

This woke Anzu and brought him out of the shadows. He offered his help, giving him the strength to rescue the other exiled Arakkoa. He founded the Veil of Terokk and established himself as the leader of the Outcasts. These are the Arakkoa we already knew from the Burning Crusade.

This evolution or consolidation as a society of the exiles puzzled the winged Arakkoa or Adepts of Rukhmar, and they considered them a threat, so they began to hunt them down in order to exterminate them. They even used apexis technology to burn down their villages.

Meanwhile Terokk was increasingly consumed by Sethe's curse and his madness was already worrying, so the priests of the exiles decided to lock him in the shadows.

This is when we reached the Summits of Arak. We find an exiled Arakkoa civilization that is breaking up for lack of a leader. Then we go into action and help regain the Arakkoa connection with Anzu, recovering Anzu's eye.

Terokk Spirit

Terokk Spirit

We will stop the ritual in which Ikiss wanted to dominate Anzu's will (Ikiss was a king of the claw who had proclaimed himself and in his madness, he believed himself to be the reincarnation of Terokk).
Once we reconnected with Anzu, he will help us remove the curse of Sethe of the exiled Arakkoa.

Once we have earned our place as champions of the Arakkoa we are imbued with the power of the spirit of Terokk, to be able to face the shattered hand, more specifically Kargath Sharpclaw. Although we do not win the war against the Iron Horde if we stop their intention to lay waste to the Arakkoa.

Thanks to the help and power of Anzu and his consort, the exiles can finally face the Adepts of Rukhmar, and we will even use their own weapons to defeat them. In this way we will kill the wise Sum Viryx in the heavenly stretch.

Fauna and Flora

Forest in Arak

Summits of Arak it is an area of incredible beauty Although the first thing we see is the hardest thing on the ground. The Skyreach will appear on the horizon above the foliage of a forest, maintaining an imposing presence throughout the area. We will find regions populated with dark forests, although with touches of light.

Coastal areas are covered with colorful wild and sunlight-bathed flowers. Along the coast we will find a Goblin area with its special characteristics.

In addition to the winged and banished Arakkoa, we will meet terrifying crows on the way. These are the strong and fierce sons of Anzu.

We will also have to face the Devastatingruthless, four-legged insects, in even Mandragoras, vegetable beasts that it is not known if they were created by the Botani.

What can we find

Heavenly stretch

The most representative thing that we will find in the map of Summits of Arak is The Skyreach dungeon.

High in the Summits of Arak, the Skyreach stands as the seat of power for the Rukhmar Adepts. The Arakkoa have gathered and mastered the apexis technology of their ancestors, and now they are ready to unleash the concentrated power of the sun against their foes.

As the final boss of the dungeon we will find the Viryx wise sum.

Curiosities

While we complete missions with the Arakkoa exiles we will find one in which they ask us to find a book; the npc that accompanies us finds a book called 50 shades of Ox ...

Roby

We can find Rooby roo, to which we can give some roobygalletas. Reference to Scooby Doo.

The name of a quest in Spiers of Arak is "Sometimes I see dead Arakoas", nod to the movie "The sixth Sense".

Also in Summits of Arak we can find three ogres around a bonfire, this scene refers to the movie or novel "The Hobbit".
