Several quest chains were removed in PTR 5.1: Today we are going to take a look at an epic chain for Warlocks linked to the Council of the Dark Harvest.

The Codex of XerrathThere has been a lot of speculation that at some point in MoP, Warlocks could alter the appearance of their spells to make a green shadow appear. When this was found in datamining during the MoP beta, Blizzard communicated via a blue post that they had technical difficulties allowing players the option to switch between green colored spells and normal abilities, and that they wanted to implement it later - with a more epic look.
With this new quest chain, green fire could be a reality in 5.1. Here's why the evidence is most compelling:
An unusual tome: Talk to your demon minion to determine the origin of
Dead Tongue Reader: Deliver the codex to a Warlock trainer in your city capital. The name of this book shares a name with the spell The name of this book shares a name with spell
The Codex of Xerrath, which reads "Corrupt all your warlock fire spells, infusing them with magic" and seems to apply an aura to many warlock abilities.
As a side note, the developers are clearly having a lot of fun with this spell's tooltip - in previous versions they included "turn your fire spells to mauve" and "turn the color of your warlock spells into a rainbow. They also summon Unicorns. "
Here you can read all about the missions in this chain, unique event for witches in the Black Temple, and details about the Council of the Dark Harvest.
A Journey of Six Masters: The quest series begins by reading a book about the Warlock trainers in Stormwind and Orgrimmar that explains the recent events of the Council of the Dark Harvest. We have copied the text of the book further down in the Blog. As a reward, you will get a permanent copy on the card:
Enlistment OrdersWord has spread that the Council of the Dark Harvest has grown into a rather great power, and that you are trying to convince them to join your faction and help in the Alliance / Horde conflict raging in Pandaria.
Slaughter selenora: Both factions are racing against the clock, and it seems that someone on the opposite side has some valuable information about the Black Harvest Council. You must hunt them down and retrieve the correspondence.
Jubeka's Journaland use the clues to locate the four Soul Stone Fragments. Clicking on these soul stones gives you a greater insight into Jubeka's memories.
Look for the sign: Follow the soul stones to the door of the Black Temple.
Infiltrating the Black Temple: Follow the path of Kanrethad and Jubeka to the Black Temple. At this point, it appears that the Warlocks enter a special version of the Black Temple and complete the "Pursuit of the Black Harvest" event, which is described in the next section.
Eye of the storm to Wrathion in the Tavern of the Mists. The soul engine has been transformed into a crystal and Wrathion would be interested in seeing it.
Waiting for the black harvest: Wait for Wrathion to notify you. You are interested in looking at the Black Harvest Council there and they will keep you posted in 5.2.
Legacy of the Masters (part one), a book that appeared in beta in Stormwind and Orgrimmar, gives some background on the creation of the council of the black harvest and their intentions behind the investigations of the dark temple. With tensions running high across so many factions, the witch council wanted to ensure that their order had enough power to withstand the political tensions and ultimately reign.
These pages contain the history of the six master warlock instructors who uncovered the secrets of the most destructive forces that have threatened Azeroth.
This strange alliance resulted in the new magic that was released to all witch sects after the Cataclysm.
After the Cataclysm, the growing tension between the Horde and the Alliance prompted the great heroes of Azeroth to train for war. Warriors raised their war banners, Acherus's Death Knights learned to control the undead, and it is even rumored that wizards discovered how to go back in time.
The news of these new threats has led the witches to take action on the matter. A small council of six members meeting in the shade debates how to guarantee the supremacy of their order. After several nights of discussions, the human warlock Kanrethad spoke:
The relentless darkness that flooded Azeroth has been repelled. Cho'gall is dead and the remains of the Twilight's Hammer have dispersed. Ragnaros has been defeated and his armies have retreated to the Firelands. Deathwing and his Twilight Drakes have been destroyed. Yet it is difficult to forget the powers that ruled… powers now within our grasp.
"There are several among us who have directly confronted its power," he said, pointing to a hooded figure across the room. A deep, sinister laugh echoed through the room as the hood burst into flames, revealing the charming orc, Ritssyn.
'It's true, pale skin, I was there when the Fire Lord fell. You cannot even imagine the intensity of its flame. The glare from Ritssyn's eyes cast eerie shadows across her burned face and fanged mouth.
"Not true," said a female voice from across the table. It was Shinfel, a blood elf adorned with Twilight elementium spikes. "No one knows horror until he is a prisoner in his own mind." Shinfel's blood was tainted during the battle with Cho'gall, and the corruption emanating from his skin had left black marks on his arms. The experience had only served to increase the intensity of his sadism.
Shinfel continued: "Even the flames of the Fire Lord were dwarfed by the chaos unleashed by the Destroyer." He paused for a moment and stared at a worgen in eerie silence. Zinnin was present when Deathwing was destroyed and had not said a single word since. Zinnin frowned and then growled at Ritssyn.
Kanrethad got up from the table and took a deep breath. That's why we are here. I have no affection for any of you but we have all witnessed displays of a higher power. Imagine the fury of the magma of the Firelands and the unstoppable chaos of Deathwing! Not even the powers of the Burning Legion will be able to do anything against our flames! "
Ritssyn climbed on top of the table and laughed. "Who's going to do it? You?" She said. "I don't think so. You have not been seen in a battle since the siege of The Black Temple. If it weren't for your sharing the secrets of Illidan's transformation with this council, I would kill you just for daring to summon me. "
Kanrethad pursed his lips for a second, but relaxed and continued, 'No. The scope of this task exceeds the capacity of any member present. I propose that this advice be divided into pairs. Ritssyn and Zinnin will lead a group to Sulfuras; Shinfel and Zelfrax will hunt down the remaining members of the Twilight's Hammer Cult and… convince them to share what they have learned. "
A gnome with markings on his face clapped with joy. Kanrethad continued: "We will return ... in a year and bring the results of our expeditions to our own sects, with more power than we would have achieved alone."
Ritssyn frowned as she saw the hidden greed in the human's words dance across the council's faces. "And what will prevent us from not killing our partner in his sleep once we have succeeded?"
Kanrethad arched his eyebrow and growled: “The oath will do that if any member of this council breaks the contract and does not return or returns alone, the others will finish him off and banish his soul forever. We will succeed together or we will die alone.

Ritssyn knew there was no going back. Decline was a death sentence and Kanrethad had already taken care of that. He could defeat the human with one hand, but face all five? No. Not now ... But after learning the secrets of the Destroyer that Zinnin had ...
"It's okay. I will participate in your stupid assignment, but first I must know where you and that miserable Renegade, Jubeka, are going to go. "
"Me?" Kanrethad said with an evil smile. "I'm going back ... to Outland"
