Relics guide, how to obtain and improve them.

relic guide

Welcome to the Patch 6.2 Relic Guide. Some time ago blizzard confirmed the new relic system. This new system brings an improved interface like the recent toy box but it is not the only change that awaits the relics in patch 6.2. In this relic guide we are going to see where they can be obtained and how to improve them.

Relics Guide 6.2. Get the new relics.

The greatest utility of relics is their experience bonus, in addition to adapting to the level of the character who wears them equipped, making the process of leveling your character much easier. As you level up, the relics also go up, therefore the stats increase.

The existing relics in patch 6.2 are: helmet, pendant, shoulder pads, cape, chest, pants, trinkets, rings, weapons, shields and left hand.

The helmet, cape and pants can be purchased for gold from any guild vendor, as always (found in the capitals, the helmet and cape are worth 500g and the pants 650g). In this relic guide we are going to focus on the rest of the relics.

The rest of the relics can be obtained in different ways, these are the different ways to get them:

For gold

They will be for sale in Ironforge (for the Alliance) and in Bowels (for the Horde). Sellers are Krom Stoutarm (located in the Hall of the Explorers) and Estelle gendry (located in the neighborhood of the rogues) respectively.

These vendors sell the relics for gold, as well as relic upgrades (we'll discuss these upgrades in the second part of the relic guide). We can get a discount on the price if we are exalted with Ironforge or Undercity. Prices are as follows:

  • Chest: 500g (400g being exalted).
  • Shoulder pads: 500g (400g being exalted).
  • Necklace: 700g (560g being exalted).
  • 1-Handed Weapon: 650g (520 being exalted).
  • 2-Handed Weapon: 750g (600g being exalted).
  • Beads: 700g (560g being exalted).
  • Shields and left hand: 500g (400g being exalted).

Citadel

With the Citadel missions at level 3 (that of the followers and ships) we can obtain the following relics:

For honor

both Stormwind as in Orc halters we will have the sellers Liliana Iceambar (located in the old town) and galla (located in The Valley of the Spirits) respectively. Both will sell us relics focused on pvp:

Black Moon Fair

During the Darkmoon Fair event, the vendor Daenrand Dawncrest in exchange of Darkmoon Vouchers will offer us:

Argent Tournament

In the Argent Tournament event which we can access by performing the level 77 mission The Argent Tournament in Icecrown. In this event (available all year round) it is possible to win Champion's Seal performing missions and defeating The Black Knight in the "Trial of the Champion" dungeon. With these stamps we can buy:

Relics Guide 6.2. How to upgrade relics.

Relics have a level cap that can be expanded with certain upgrades. There are 3 kinds of relics: Level 1-60, Level 61-90, and Level 91-100. When we buy the relics we get them from type 1-60. If we want to expand them, we must achieve improvements. In this relic guide we detail all the possible ways to get these improvements:

For gold

It is the most direct option (and the most expensive). The Ironforge Vendors (Krom Stoutarm) and Undercity (Estelle gendry) mentioned above sell the following enhancements:

Lunar festival

During the current Lunar Festival relic armor upgrades can be purchased in exchange for Coins of Lineage:

Black Moon Fair

During the Blackmoon Fair event the vendor Daenrand Dawncrest It will also be possible to buy upgrades for the relics in exchange for Darkmoon Vouchers:

Amor en el aire

During the Love in the Air event it will be possible to buy both weapon upgrades in exchange for Love Test.

The Champion's Seal We can change them for:

Summer Solstice

During the Summer Solstice event we can buy the following upgrades from Midsummer Merchant (Horde) already Midsummer Provider (Alliance) in exchange for Burning flowers:

Beer Fest

In the Beer Festival event we can buy upgrades from vendors Belbi Trash Can (Alliance) and Blix Chirimbolo (Horde) in exchange for Beer Festival Token:

Halloween

During the Halloween event they sell upgrades for the relics. We can buy them from sellers Dorothy (Alliance) and Fondon (Horde) in exchange for Halloween candy:

Dungeons in time

During the time dungeon event we can buy all relic upgrades from vendors kiatke (Cataclysm), auzin (Lich King) and copper (Burning Crusade) in exchange for Time badge:

For honor

Liliana Iceambar (located in Old Town Stormwind) and galla (located in Orgrimmar's Valley of the Spirits) also sell relic upgrades in exchange for Honor Points.

Apart from the previous options, in our citadel there will be a character called Fix «Little» Tuner (Alliance) or Drix Low Bolt (Horde) with a mission for us, Mysterious notebook. This mission will ask us to deliver a notebook to Krom Stoutarm (in Ironforge if you are an Alliance) or Estelle gendry (in Undercity if you are Horde).

Once the mission is delivered, a chain of missions will begin with which we will obtain improvements for relics in exchange for Defective Draenic Coins. We will obtain these coins by doing the first heroic dungeon of the day (we only obtain them if we have the mission). As it is a chain of missions, they are not repeatable.

In the following list we indicate the missions and their reward (the missions are ordered according to the mission chain):

  1. Numismatics / Numismatics : Get 5 Defective Draenic Coins. Reward: Ancient Heirloom Armor Casing.
  2. Go for the collection / You have to get everything: Gather 10 Defective Draenic Coins. Reward: Ancient Heirloom Armor Casing.
  3. A curious oddity / A curious oddity: Get 25 Defective Draenic Coins. Reward: Ancient Heirloom Scabbard.
  4. Same but different / Same but different: Gather 50 Defective Draenic Coins. Reward: Ancient Heirloom Scabbard.

Relic upgrades only apply to one relic so upgrading an entire set is somewhat expensive but the upgrade is permanent and the relic can be used by all characters on the account.

OMG! Just the guide I was looking for. I thought there were a maximum of 5 easy-to-get relics, but I see that with a good economy all, along with the improvements, are very accessible. Thanks for this great post. 🙂

Good I wanted to consult ... where to buy the pants, helmet and cape. Since they are not in the sellers that you indicate.

From now many thanks and greetings!!.

      Good 🙂
For the helmet, pants and cape it is necessary to belong to a brotherhood. In addition, the brotherhood must have the achievement Work better as a team to unlock the pants. The seller Shay pressler Sell to Alliance players in Stormwind and goram Sell the Relics in Orgrimmar to Horde players.
I hope the information is helpful, greetings!

It is just what I was looking for, thank you very much !!!

One question, with 7.0.3 has things changed a lot or is it still more or less the same? (If it has changed, it would be tremendous to put the differences)

    1.    Louis Cervera said

Good! The relics are pretty much the same. The limit is at level 100 and they continue to be bought and improved at the same vendors. The only changes so far are:
-The relics are now blue to better differentiate them (the text).
-The relics that were obtained by honor points are now obtained by Mark of honor since the points no longer exist. Marks of Honor are earned from PvP boxes earned as rewards from battles (scored and unscored).
As soon as more news comes out, we will update this same guide. Surely throughout the Legion there will be changes.
Greetings, see you in the Broken Isles!

A little question, I raised my reputation with guts to exalted and it continues to charge me the same, did they change that, or this bug?

    1.    Adrian Da Cuna said

They changed it a couple of months ago, now both excited and not paying the same.

hello I have some doubt about how to get the sand trinket of the black moon fair ...

    1.    Adrian Da Cuna said

It is similar to the one in the Gurubashi arena, you have to manage to open the chest that appears in the arena every 3 hours.
