Not long ago I saw in the comments, that there were people asking how to comfortably update their addons. That is why I decided to make this guide.
I am going to tell you about the system that I use. You will decide if you want to use it or not. Although this program has a new version, it is in its beta phase, so for now I prefer to continue with this version.
We are talking about Curse Client that belongs to Curse.com where a multitude of addons are housed. To use the Curse client you must be registered on the page Curse.com. Registration is simple and I can ensure that your email will not receive any spam, and if we uncheck the box to receive information we will never be bothered with unnecessary email.
Once registered in Curse.com we download the program from the same page. We click on «Client», in the page menu:
On the page that comes out we click on the Download button, in my case for PC. If you use MAC you already know, to the other button.
Download and install the program and once this is done you will have a new icon on your desktop:
We open the program. Now we will have to add the WoW to the program so that it can monitor it. Curse has support for addons for more games so if we have any of them installed, we can also add them from here.
We click on «add game«
We will get a window like this:
There we put a name to the game (in my case only: wow), we select the type in «type»And now we have to tell you where our addons are. To do this, we will click on the «Browse» button and a small window will open. There we go to the folder where we have installed our game and select the folder «World of Warcraft" ( eye, do not select the addons folder).
Once this is done we click on the button «Manage Games«:
We will have the game added to the program and we can monitor our addons from it:
Options that we must configure:
- Enabled: Yes, manage the addons for this game.
- release preference: Release (it will only inform us if there are updates to final versions, no betas)
- Library Preferences: Normal (Recommended).
We already have everything configured so that the program keeps us informed of the updates of our addons, provided it is a final version and we can start using it. The thing about the final versions is to avoid problems. Betas, although somewhat stable, can have problems and it is better not to have problems, right?
We click on the button «wow» (remember that in my case I call the game wow) on the left. In that window we will see 2 or 3 tabs (depending on whether we have addons that the program does not monitor as they are not included in the Curse.com database).
These tabs are:
- YourAddons
- findaddons
- Unidentified Addons (unmonitored addons)
Let's go to Find Addons and update our database. We click on the tab «findaddons»And then on the button«refresh«. Then, the program will indicate that it is updating the list through a progress window:
Once this is done, we go to the «YourAddons»And we do the same, we click on the button«refresh«:
This will scan our addons and tell us which ones have an update available. The program indicates the progress through 2 tabs:
At the end, the program will indicate which addons are outdated with an icon and highlighting them:
We select it and click on the Update button (this button changes from Reinstall to Update depending on whether the addon is updated or not):
Once the addon is updated, it will appear marked with another icon, letting us know that it has been recently updated:
The program in its Normal version (not paid) will only let us update addons 1 in 1. The Premium version (paid) will allow us to update all at the same time, and with more speed. It is up to you to choose the version.

To clear up certain doubts about the curse profiler issue and its installation, I would like to clarify that the program SI that asks us when we run the installer program, whether or not we want to install this functionality.
Even so, if we have installed it accidentally (which I suppose is what happens to many, since when we install something in English almost most of the people click on next—> next—> accept—> accept) we can configure the program so that it does not use the curse profiler from the program options:
