I always recommend one thing with professions: the best way to raise it is by being a maximum level. You avoid headaches in case you have to go to an area with a higher level than you, greater access to resources, it takes less time to farm, recipes that ask for a level and cut your "roll", etc ... So My advice is to get involved with professions if you are above level 100 or more.

The Darkmoon Fair: that great friend of the professions
With the Black Moon Fair you can save 5 points without having to do many things or large expenses. Skinning's mission is frogs. You only need to brush 5 flour on the island and voila.
Not everything is pretty, the Fair has 3 drawbacks: it lasts 1 week, it is the 1st Sunday of each month and it only allows you that profession mission in each event (if you return a month you can do it again). Still, 5 points for such a simple thing saves you from many expenses, especially in the final stretch.
1-600

600-650
Surely while you defeat bugs they will let you go skinning, which comes in handy to climb the ranks in skinning.
The best skinning zone up to 650 in Draenor is in Frostfire Ridge. Lots of bugs and very high respawn. Skinns wolf y stinger.
Another very good skinning area is in Shadowmoon with the bull.
650-700
Skinns spores in Summits of Arak.
700-800 (1-800 if you want to jump straight to Legion)
Surely at skin your first worgs you fall stone skin to achieve the rank of Legion. They also fall on the drakes of the Tormeneim area, scale. You don't need both, just one.
