Windwalker Monk - PVE Guide - Patch 8.0.1

cover 8.0.1 Windwalker Monk

Hey good! How are you doing, colleague? In this article we bring you the best talents for the Wind Traveler Monk during leveling and at maximum level to unleash the potential of this specialization.

Windwalker Monk

The Windwalking Monks are incomparable martial arts specialists who strike down their foes with the blow of their hands and fists with numerous deadly abilities.

Strengths

  • It's one of the most mobile specs in the game. It has many powers to travel long distances in a short time.
  • He has quite useful abilities to reduce the damage he takes.
  • Huge damage against one or more targets.

Weak points

  • In my opinion, this specialization does not have weak points for PVE. It has damage, mobility ... What more could you ask for?

Talents

In this section of the article I will bring you several ways to confront your enemies and different ways to develop encounters, be it massive targets or just single-target encounters. As always we advise you in all class guides, choose the ones you like the most or come close to your possibilities if a talent doesn't convince you.

-Talents in yellow: they can become the best depending on which fights, in this case, they are the best for single-objective encounters.
-Talents in blue: you can choose them in case you do not like the ones that appear in yellow, there will not be much difference in the DPS.
-Talents in green: these talents are the best to do much more damage in areas, that is, encounters with more than three objectives.

  • Level 15: Eye of the Tiger
  • Level 30: OPTIONAL
  • Level 45: Fist of the White Tiger
  • Level 60: OPTIONAL
  • Level 75: Mitigate Damage
  • Level 90: Hit Combo
  • Level 100: Serenity

Windwalking Monk talents 8.0

lvl 15

  • Eye of the Tiger (Passive Effect): Tiger Palm also applies Eye of the Tiger, dealing (172% attack power). Nature damage to the enemy and (172% attack power). healing to the monk over 8 sec.
  • Wave of Chi (Instant / 15s cooldown): A wave of chi energy cuts through friend and foe alike. Deals (86.7% attack power) p. Nature damage or heals (150% attack power). of health. Bounce up to 7 times off targets within 25 yards.
  • Chi Burst: Launches a stream of chi energy forward with a range of 40 yds, dealing (46% attack power) damage. Nature damage to all enemies and heals (67.5675% attack power). the monk and all the allies in his path. Windwalker: Chi Burst generates 1. Chi for each enemy target damaged, up to a maximum of 2p.

Starting with the first branch of this specialization, Chi Burst, as the faculty itself explains, it damages all the enemies that we have in front of us after a short cast. This ability does a lot of damage and will help healers in a small percentage since it also heals allies.

Eye of the Tiger (Passive Effect) It is the talent that you should use in single objective encounters since it is the only viable one in this branch.

Many people use Wave of Chi (Instant / 15s cooldown) but, honestly, it doesn't seem like the most correct option. If what we want is to do more damage, the previous ones are better than this one.

lvl 30

Personally, Chi Torpedo (Instant / 20s reload / replaces Roll) It is the talent that I use for any occasion although Tiger's Wish (Instant / 30s cooldown) is, perhaps, the best talent in the branch. Tiger's Wish (Instant / 30s cooldown) grants movement speed and removes all effects that affect our mobility while Chi Torpedo (Instant / 20s reload / replaces Roll) it just propels us farther and slightly increases movement speed.

Although for tastes colors and Haste (Passive Effect) it is not far behind. Perhaps the option of increasing the number of charges per minute seems more attractive, although, having the previous ones that are more useful, I would not use it.

lvl 45

Invigorating Elixir (Instant / 45s cooldown) It is a talent that is used (like Empower Runes with the DK Frost) when we are drier in an encounter. If we find ourselves without available abilities, energy and chi points very often during combat, this talent will be the best option.

Ascension (Passive effect) It can be a good entry option since the number of faculties in an encounter increases considerably thanks to our energy regeneration but, without going into tedious and intelligible explanations, it does not seem the most appropriate faculty for this branch.

Fist of the White Tiger It will be the talent that we will choose for this branch by default for solo targets since its damage potential is quite large.

lvl 60

  • Tiger Tail Sweep: Increases the range of Leg Sweep by 2 m and reduces its cooldown by 10 sec.
  • Good karma: Touch of Karma can now redirect an extra 50% of your maximum health.
  • Peace ring : Forms a Ring of Peace at the target location for 5 sec. Enemies that enter will be kicked out of the ring.

Peace ring It can be used for PVP although, leaving this aside, in a PVE combat it will not do us much good unless we want to tank a large number of enemies and we need a moment to recover.

Good karma He can be quite an interesting talent, although I find him much more useful in PVE than in PVP. For PVE it can serve us if we go alone and face a very powerful objective.

Tiger Tail Sweep I do not think it is a very good option for this branch, although having the stun 10 seconds before can help us in some situation than another. For dungeons it may be worth it.

lvl 75

  • Inner strength: Each Chi point you spend reduces the damage you take by 2% for 5 sec. This stacks up to a maximum of 5 times.
  • Blur Magic: Reduces magic damage you take by 60% for 6 sec and transfers all damaging magic effects currently active to their original caster, if possible.
  • Mitigate damage: Reduces all damage you take by 20% to 50% for 10 sec. The reduction increases the greater the attack.

Inner strength It is a good option if we are facing a boss who does not have devastating abilities or if we are alone against a target with good health.

Blur Magic He is a talent for PVP although he can serve us in some situations in PVE.

Mitigate damage It is, for me, the recommended talent for this branch since it will allow us to reduce the damage we receive in mechanics with devastating abilities in most bosses. Since we are going to eat the areas because we are made of cones ... why not reduce their damage?

lvl 90

  • Hit combo : Each consecutive attack that triggers Combo Strikes in a row deals 1% additional damage, stacking up to 6 times.
  • Rushing Jade Wind : Summons a tornado that swirls around you, dealing [(9) * (10% attack loss)] p. damage over 6 sec to enemies within 8 yards.
  • Summon Xuen, the White Tiger: Summons an effigy of Xuen, the White Tiger, for 20 sec. Xuen attacks your primary target, striking 3 enemies within 10 yards every 1 sec with Tiger Lightning, dealing (23% attack power) damage. Nature damage.

Hit combo it grants us a large amount of damage in encounters, whether they are unique or in mass and, therefore, it is recommended for this branch.

If your looking for more damage in area, Rushing Jade Wind it can be a good option since we can use it at all times.

Summon Xuen, the White Tiger I have never been convinced by this talent but it can be quite useful if we need to stop hitting our target for a while to perform a specific mechanic that does not allow us to get close to the boss.

lvl 100

  • Spiritual focus: Increases the damage done by the spirits of Storm, Earth and Fire by 5%.
  • Spinning Dragon Punch: Performs a devastating spinning upward attack, dealing [3 * (82.9319% attack power)] p. damage to all nearby enemies. Can only be used while Fists of Fury and Rising Sun Kick are on cooldown.
  • Serenity: You enter a state of physical and mental serenity during
12 sec. While in this state, you deal 20% more damage and healing, and all chi-consuming abilities are free and have 100% less cooldown.

Spiritual focus It should only be used if there are two or three enemies in the encounter.

Spinning Dragon Punch is the best talent for area damage, dealing devastating damage on your enemies.

If you find yourself in single-target encounters, Serenity It is the best talent since we can use it as a burst at the beginning of the match and during it.

Practical tips

  • For this monk specialization, always having chi points will be our main goal.
  • Do not abuse the main attack Tiger palm since it doesn't do too much damage. We must bear in mind that it is the only faculty that grants chi points.
  • When we start the match and have our first three combo points, Fists of fury it will be the first faculty that we will use. Every time we have it again, it will be our priority when spending the combo points.
  • Rising Sun Tiger Kick It will be the second ability that we will use with which we consume chi points, since it is a skill with a great attack potential.
  • Touch of karma It should be used if we know that we are going to receive damage and that it does not exceed the maximum range that it can withstand. All of this damage will be redirected to the enemy.
  • By not having more powers of damage, Dark kick it will be our last option. Reserve at least two chi points until you have the other abilities active.
  • Touch of death it should be used every time we have it active.
  • Leg sweep has become our stun in the default area.
