After 4.0.1 ... What will become of my magician?

magician-discharge-pirofrio

Patch 4.0.1 will land on our computers Soon. Yes, yes, soon to dry, without the trademark (™) signal, so it is time to think about how the changes will affect the classes. What will the hunters do with the focus? Will the rotation of the druid balance how it will be? What about the magicians? Do I get the piercing on my tongue again? All these things I will answer in the next few days, and those that I do not know ... well I invent them with the self-confidence that characterizes me (and for the last help me, ho) ^^

Let's start this week with our friends, the magicians. All the information after the jump (I woke up original, have you never read this sentence on our website?)

How to spend the frost emblems on the team as a magician

tier10_mage_belfa Hello! I am Shÿlà a wizard from the Wanderers of the Crucible of Souls Brotherhood. Maybe you remind me of the opinion on changes to magician that I did at the time.

I thought of helping our little magu a little bit to spend their frost emblems to improve the equipment. I want to make it clear that they are only suggestions, everyone can act according to what they think will improve the statistics.

Notes:

  • Don't spend emblems on pants or gloves. Those at level 264 are very easily achieved by doing Toravon at 25.
  • Don't waste emblems on the cape. In my personal opinion, it is wasting 50 emblems, it is a cloak that does not carry haste, even if it has a gem slot. Until you get a good cape in ICC 25 or spend the emblems in the order I put below, you can get a level 264 cape with honor points that, although it has mettle, the statistics it provides are not negligible: Wrathful Gladiator's Cloak of Subjugation. It costs 52.200 honor points. It can also be thrown by Toravon 25 but it is very difficult for it to come out.
  • When you have two Tier 10 pieces, it's time to equip them to get the first buff: “Your Hot Streak, Missile Barrage, and Brain Freeze talents also grant you 12% Haste for 5 seconds when the talent's effect is consumed»
  • Don't break the four Tier 9 piece buff until you have two Tier 10 pieces; You see accumulating emblems until you have to exchange them for two pieces.

Let's start with a simple order to optimize the spending of the emblems.

Opinion: On the changes to the Magician by Shÿlà

banner_opinion_wizard

It is very likely that you are following the changes of the class Wizard for Cataclysm and now, we have the opinion of those who play the class on the implication these changes might have. Therefore, we ask that you use the article voting system to rate the article of Shÿla objectively.

If you have not yet seen what awaits the Wizardbe sure to check the changes that are to come. We will continue to publish your opinions and, if you dare, you may want to take a look to see how participate in this of the opinions of classes.

Good morning, I am Shÿlà, magician in the kingdom of The Wanderers and the Maelstrom brotherhood and I wanted to leave you a few words about the changes to the magician in Cataclysm:

First of all point out that I am not at all familiar with the pvp environment and I may fall into the error of ignorance by not knowing how to evaluate certain aspects of these changes under the game class in pvp. Most of my opinion is based on the pve environment.

Hi, I hardly slept today waiting for the magician changes, since I currently play one in Deep Mine, and I did not want to stop commenting on it.

Class Advancement in Cataclysm: Wizard

As we expected, we already have the first preview of the changes that will be made to the class Wizard en Cataclysm. These changes are those published by Blizzard and make the class designers' intentions regarding this class quite clear. Note that these changes are preliminary and things can (and will) change during the Beta phase of Cataclysm.

In addition, I recommend you visit this article regularly as we will update it as more information about the Magi appears. They usually answer user questions to clarify or reveal a few more things.

These are the most significant changes of the class:

  • Flame Orb (new ability available at level 81): Inspired by the abilities of Prince Taldaram in Ahn'kahet and Icecrown Citadel, this spell allows the magician to cast a flaming orb that travels in a straight line, sending blasts of fire at the close targets.
  • Temporal distortion (new ability available at level 83): Grants a passive haste effect, similar to Bloodlust or Heroic, to party or raid members. It also temporarily increases the wizard's movement speed.
  • Wall of mist (new ability available at level 85): Create a frost line in front of the mage, 30 meters from one side to the other. Enemies that cross the line are slowed and take damage.
  • The Consumption talent will allow mages to cast spells using health when they run out of mana.

You can find the rest of the information after the jump.

PvE Wizard Guide

To start I will introduce myself. My name is Zeroner and I have been playing the Wizard class since the American Beta. The objective of this guide is to reveal the keys to get the most out of your wizard in the PvE arena, in a raid environment.

banner_wizard_guide

Let's take a look at the three talent branches of the magician, looking at the advantages of each. The Arcane branch is the best branch to DPS to a single target, the Fire branch has slightly less potential when it comes to DPS to a single target, but its key point, without a doubt, is the large amount of AoE damage what can you do; and finally the Frost branch, which is characterized as the branch that offers great survivability and mana efficiency.

At the time of raiding, three builds are mainly shuffled, one based on the Arcane branch and the other two based on the Fire branch. This guide is mainly focused on the Arcane branch, as it is undoubtedly the most powerful branch in a raid environment. The other two branches are on a secondary plane and are considered transitive, that is, branches to go through before using the Arcane branch. Only one of them is used in encounters that require high AoE damage.

Despite the big changes to the Frost branch in patch 3.3, I personally still don't see it as a viable option for raiding. Blizzard's attempts to revitalize this branch are appreciated though.

The Classes of Môrtifilia: The Magician

Cold, heat ... all these sensations are normal, what is not so normal is to have them all at once and in a few seconds. Taking advantage of the fact that the Kirin Tor is busy with Malygos, we are going to go into his library, to see what changes the magicians have undergone, without risk of transforming us into something strange ...

Guiaswow answers: Wizard rotations

Some time ago, we inaugurated a section on the web to answer the doubts of the users that arise.

This past week I have not received any mail. I suppose you are all watching Easter processions or trying to break the Sartharion + 3D Zerg record. Although I hope that this week you have some questions in the mailbox.

The idea is that you send us your questions through your comments or your emails to webmaster@guiaswow.com and we will try to answer one question a week. The question can be about whatever worries you about World of Warcraft, the best addon for questing, where the Lost Time Protodrake is, anything.

guiaswow_reply

This week I have chosen a question that Carlos sends us. And he's concerned about rotations for out-of-band wizards.

Guiaswow answers: Hit rating for magicians

Last night, waiting for the new update of Patch 3.1 in the Public Test Realms (PTR) I was taking a look at the keywords by which users find us when they search in Google.

There is a lot.

But there was one that caught my attention since we don't have any content related to that but that visitor came to the page specifically looking for: «hit index for wizards wow" is "hit rate for heroic naxxramas«. Before going to sleep I decided to answer this user's question by "inaugurating" with his "question" a section that I am going to call... Guiaswow respond (how original).

guiaswow_reply

The idea is that you send us your questions not through Google but through your comments or your emails to webmaster@guiaswow.com and we will try to answer one question a week. In the absence of comments, I will select Google terms to answer questions that many of you have.

Spell Hit Rating is a combat attribute that increases the chance of a caster (wizard / warlock / shadow priest / elemental shaman) to hit with a spell. This index is obtained mainly from talents or teams that have Hit Index. The higher the hit rate, the less chance a spell will fail. With the advent of Wrath of The Lich King, the hit rate cap is 100%. That is, with sufficient hit rating it is possible to reach a point where it is impossible to miss a spell. It is important to differentiate failed spells from resisted spells as this rating does not count for resisted spells. Before you ask the question, healers don't need hit rating as their spells never fail (their hands fail… sometimes).

spirit_magician

I'm a magician and I like the spirit, so what?

spirit_magician We have known that the Magicians are in the crosshairs in the Public Test Realms (PTR), personally it is an issue that affects me, you know that I am a magician. We have verified that the Arrablo Armor and its glyph have worsened since now, instead of having our static 5% critical strike rating, it now depends directly on the Spirit we have. This is definitely bad news for most of us, and only an improvement for those wizards who are better equipped than the rest. Now we are forced to take into account a statistic (the spirit) that previously went somewhat unnoticed.

However, the latest changes to RPPs are good news for us. We are going to comment on them.
