Guide to tank with a druid

Let's start with a short introduction in which I will try to be as unbiased as possible. Bears are the best tanks in the world. Hmm. That didn't go as planned. Well let's try again

Is the bear no longer a tank or what? - Impressions of a Druid Bear after 4.0.1

druid-bear-4-0-1

In this post, I am going to make some references to the changes found with Patch 4.0.1 and that, it seems, will accompany us in the new era of Cataclysm:

Already in this expansion, at WotLK, the tank-specific leather gear pieces were taken from the bears, leaving it up to us what we were most interested in. Obviously, there were pieces that provided more agility and endurance than any other attribute, so, in general, we looked that the pieces had more endurance than agility and that the armor penetration was not present in the secondary attributes since this to the bear " plín ”.

Now, with the implementation of 4.0.1 and the benefits changes of each attribute, bears can bypass the tank-specific jewels (rings and necklaces) and go for the dps ones that provide agility (obviously the strength ones is absurd) as long as these necklaces / rings do not provide any proc. The why? Very easy.

First of all I introduce myself ... I am Sergan author of the Blog "Grazing in mulgore"Where for some time I have been writing and making guides about the different specs of the druid or healers classes in general and I usually interview other players / bloggers for those who are just starting out in this game and have an idea of the tremendous world that World of Warcraft opens to them plus one that another advance that has to do with my characters. Wink

This guide-analysis was made with the help of Crapo y Kary… Members of my guild (The most excellent Plan-Z) who specialize in Feral and Balance (Kary, the truth is that his is the Rest but he knows at least more than I do about the Balance branch) plus a couple of people who asked me not to name them but they have a relationship with whom interview a few weeks ago (Tjani from Ensidia) in "Interview with a Poplar .." who gave me a hand on the specs that I handle the least ... even though it is difficult to do an analysis without having the numbers and the final talent branch that we will have if they help us to give us an idea of where the druid is pointing and what we can expect from the.. Ohhhh So ...
Where's the Steelskin (2000% Armor Increase for 30 min)?
And the Massive Reborn (A rebirth that can be channeled in motion, a la shaman, raising all dead)?
I also do not see the Anti-Panic button (Spell that raises the life, mana, runes, energy, etc. of the raid to 100%)?
And the offensive part of the Tree (Rooting in the ground and using roots to trap the enemy)?

Cataclysm Druid trailer update

It has been hard, arduous and it has taken me a long time. I think that without Môrtifilia's help it would have taken three times longer ... but here they are ... the 25 responses that our friend Ghostcrawler has made in the Druid forum about the Advance of the Druid in Cataclysm...

Prepare your coffee and massage your fingers for the scroll ...

No Damage over Time that benefits from Haste and Critical?

Most Heals and Heals over Time, including the Druid, will benefit from haste and critical. The exceptions are Deep Wounds and Ignition that are already critical related.

We knew that making Tree of Life a cooldown was going to be controversial. There was no way that such a big change would be unanimously accepted. My apologies yes, the idea of being a tree was what really brought you to class.

We are not adding new rotation spells to Restoration or Feral Cat because, you already have enough buttons. We've tried a lot in Cataclysm not to add new spells just for the sake of it. The branches that have new spells are the ones that we think have large gaps in their rotation. You will still have new talents and mechanics so I hope there will be a lot to learn when the big game-changing patch comes out.

The rest, after the jump… yes… there are 23!

Class Advancement in Cataclysm: Druid

As we expected, we already have the first preview of the changes that will be made to the class Druid en Cataclysm. These changes are those published by Blizzard and make the class designers' intentions regarding this class quite clear. Note that these changes are preliminary and things can (and will) change during the Beta phase of Cataclysm.

In addition, I recommend you visit this article regularly as we will update it as more information about the Druids appears. They usually answer user questions to clarify or reveal a few more things.

These are the most significant changes of the class:

  • Thrashing (new ability at level 81): Thrash deals damage and causes all targets within 10 yards to bleed every 2 seconds for 6 seconds.
  • Stampede roar (new ability at level 83): Druid roars, increasing all allies' movement within 40 yards by 10% for 8 seconds. Stampede Roar can be used in Cat or Bear form, and bears may have a talent that reduces cooldown.
  • Wild mushroom (new skill at level 85): Spawns a magic mushroom at the target location. After 4 seconds, the mushroom becomes invisible. Enemies that cross the mushroom will detonate it, causing it to deal area-of-effect damage, although its damage component will also be very effective against individual targets.
  • Tree of Life is going from a passive talent to a cooldown-based talent similar to Metamorphosis. From a mechanical point of view, it seems unfair for a druid to have to put aside so much attack power and utility in order to be as good at healing as the rest of the classes, who don't need to make that choice.

You can find the rest of the information after the jump.

The Classes of Môrtifilia: The Druid

Welcome one more week to «Our Animal Friends». This week we are going to look at the hunting methods of the Golden Eagle. We see how he fixes his target on a ... Giant Ice Dragon? Well ... as I was saying, we see how the eagle approaches its target and ... was that lightning? God! He has turned into a kind of human and falls to the ground, but ... is he now a panther? Well yes, dear listeners, the panther is approaching its target, who has just landed ... and turns into a bear. But what is this??? It seems that the eagle, now a bear, has problems ... but be careful, they are joining the fight for survival ... A walking tree? And the other seems to be a Don Pinpon fan who starts helping the eagle-panther-bear. I ... I ... I can't anymore ...

Very good! Forgive the delay, I was having a coffee… Wow, what is a biologist doing lying on the ground foaming at the mouth? Well, while the Royal Apothecary Society… revives him (ignore the screams, please) let's see the class of the week: The Druid.

Decalogue of the Tank Druid - Tips for Tanking better

banner_decalogue_druid_tank

This is a great article, which comes from the hand of Sheriff, a Night Elf Feral Druid from the brotherhood of The Kingdom of Heaven in the Spanish server of Sanguino and has the contributions of Daiyara.

Today I'm going to bring you a decalogue of important things that a good Tank Druid should know when facing a group of enemies (pull). Before we begin, I would like to advise that if you do not have the Glyph of Maul, run to buy it and put it on because it is very important.

Here are my tips to help us adapt to the different situations that we will encounter:

More Q&A: The Druid

It seems that the developers are answering more and more questions. If you recently had some additional questions and answers ...

Interview with Ghostcrawler about the Druids

interview_ghostcrawler_druida

Greg "Ghost crawler"Street and the development team continue to review each class and answer the most important questions that the community raises about the druid class, we are going to investigate the design philosophy that underlies this class, their expectations and what we can do. expect.

Community team:
We would like to start with a question that players often ask about the purpose of each class. In this case, we are specifically targeting the Druid, who has one of the widest playstyle ranges in World of Warcraft for the variety offered by his different talent trees.

Q: Where do the Druids fit into the big picture of everything and where can we expect them to go from now on?

R: Similar to the paladin and shaman, the druid in the original World of Warcraft was designed to be a healer in the endgame content. Bears could tank the upper Blackrock Summit well. But honestly, no one took cats, bears, or lechúcicos very seriously at level 60. In Burning Crusade, things changed a bit. The bears could tank much more content, and might even have been too powerful in the end if it weren't for the Radiance from the Sunwell. The cats were probably a little behind. You could see them, but they were there primarily for the benefits or simply because they could easily switch from tank to dps in a world where dual specialization did not exist. For example, they were great for Zul'Aman. There were very good balanced druids, but still too many owkkin that were running out of mana too quickly. Our philosophy at the time of the game was that hybrid classes had to put a lot of their power aside, especially dps, in order to justify their versatility and massive benefits. In Lich King, we decided to change this and make sure that all four Druid types had a PvE role in Heroic Dungeons and Raids. And yes, this meant four roles, because if we were going to let the cats do credible dps or the bears tank anything in the game then we wanted players to have to go one extreme or the other. You can still be half bear, half cat if you want, but you won't be as effective at either end, and my experience tells me that players rarely choose that path.

In PvP, the story is completely different. Once the Restoration Druids had enough tools in Burning Crusade, they were extremely difficult to counter in the Arena. Cyclone, feral charge, and running and applying heals over time made Druids frustratingly elusive. We wanted to reduce this a bit in Lich King, mostly by removing feral charge and making Tree of Life a real option in PvP. Unfortunately, raised tree armor and heals over time to dispel at your own risk have made Druids continue to be difficult to counter in PvP. Feral Druids have always had a place in PvP, but they were never as dominant as Restoration Druids. There's a bit of a chicken-egg dilemma because while some druids just wanted to PvP feral, others were happy to switch to restoration for PvP. Balance Druids have always seemed even less viable than Feral, which is less than ideal and something we would like to improve upon. We tend to have a longer-term view on these things than the players. We had other balance issues that we wanted to fix first in PvP, and making each class spec viable sometimes had to be something that came later.
