War Games are coming to the Battlefields and the Arenas

Blizzard introduces ... war games in the PvP landscape. If what you want is to practice a little strategy, hang out with some friends and not have the need to score, you may be interested in knowing what these War Games are.

Q: What is a war game?

A: A war game is an unranked game in which one group of players challenges another to a skirmish on the arena or battlefield in an environment of their choice. The Wargame can be started using the command / gamewargame (or / wargame in English) or / jg (or / wg in English), as explained below.

Keep in mind that these "encounters" are not scored but they allow us to do fun things or simply polish our strategy as a brotherhood or group on the Battlefield or in the Arena, without losing any index. These games must have players from the same kingdom but can be from the same or different factions.

This will come with season 9 of Arenas that starts during this week.

If you want to know more, you can continue reading or read it in the official blog.

Cataclysm is the fastest-selling PC game ever

It took a while, but the first reports on Cataclysm sales have arrived. In the first 24 hours of the game's release, World of Warcraft: Cataclysm has sold 3.3 million copies. It thus surpasses the record held by Wrath of the Lich King of 2.8 million copies sold. This is undoubtedly good news for an increasingly populated Azeroth.

"We had to bring Azeroth to the brink of destruction at Cataclysm, and the result has been that we have created our best expansion," said Mike Morhaime, president and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment. "We want to thank all of our players for their incredible enthusiasm and support, and we hope to hear from you very soon about the new content in the expansion."

You have the whole press release, after the jump.

First batch of post-Cataclysm fixes

Blizzard has released a ton of post-cataclysmic fixes for Patch 4.0.3a. Fixed many of the problems with missions and with some classes. There are some fixes that are really funny to read like:

There is no longer a school of fish in the Elwynn Forest that considers itself to be "testing," nor does it give peace flowers when fishing. This school of fish is no longer part of the counterculture and will not give flowers when fishing in it.

You have a complete list of the bugs fixed after the jump.

Ghostcrawler tells us about the main and secondary attributes

Things are starting to calm down and the developers are back to writing after the breath contained by the release of Cataclysm. Our favorite developer Greg "Ghostcrawler" Street talks about primary and secondary attributes and their balance in itemization.

Ghostcrawler articles are usually quite explanatory and, luckily, they are translated into our language when they leave. You can always follow them in the official blog. However, you can also read it after the jump.

New Battleground Groups in Cataclysm Unveiled

Especially since Battlegrounds have been experienced, low-level players (let's forget about twinks) have been steadily entering them to escape the "monotony" of doing quests to level up.

Although we are no longer monotonous now because the missions are new and with better mechanics, Blizzard has announced new battle groups for Cataclysm to avoid the frustration. I'm sure many of you don't even bother entering a battlefield at level 21 because a level 29 player will vilely destroy you. In Cataclysm, groups split up to divide into 5 levels.

In addition, access to certain Battlegrounds has been advanced so that players will not only do Warsong Gulch at low levels.

You have the rest of the news, with more details after the jump or in the community blog.

The devastation of Azeroth

In the icy wastelands of Northrend, the final battle against the ruthless Lich King ended in victory for the defenders of Azeroth. Returning home, the veterans of the relentless conflict against the Scourge were showered with honors for their brave sacrifices, as the honorable fallen were mourned. But as hope shone for the Lich King's downfall, Azeroth's native elemental spirits grew increasingly confused and erratic, resulting in a series of deadly natural disasters. Horde and Alliance leaders were vying for clues to the troubled state of the world, but nothing could have prepared them for what lay ahead.

Without warning, the Corrupted Aspect dragon, Deathwing, emerged from the rocky heart of Deepholm, the realms of earth on the elemental plane. The land cracked into jagged fissures and monstrous waves flooded the coastal regions. From the Thousand Spiers to the Blasted Lands, the surface of Azeroth underwent a violent reshaping. Now, the Horde and the Alliance must defend their homes against Deathwing and his minions, as well as bear the disturbing burden that the world as they knew it has changed… forever.

Blizzard Developer Article: Why Does Blizzard Hate Healers?

dwarf-priest

Ghostcrawler has launched the Dev Articles on the new Battle.net blogs and talks about a topic that will sound familiar to many: healing.

There has been a lot of controversy and perhaps too much information about the effects Cataclysm will have on Healing. If you've seen the Caverns of the Blackrock videos we put out recently, you might have an idea of what's to come.
Many people have the impression that the changes are to annoy (to say the least) the Healers but the truth is that as a healer I have enjoyed (and suffered) a lot. I believe that the changes that we will see in the healers not only directly impact the players who manage them but also the rest of the group. If the tank decides to go after a large group of monsters without doing any crowd control, it is very likely that many will die because now the healer will not be able to raise the entire group because: a) does not have enough mana and b) their cures are no longer so fast.

Mr. Ghostcrawler talks about all this. Let's make a brief summary:

  • Healers in Wrath had too much mana. This meant that players never had to worry about mana and always used the least efficient spell because mana was never going to run out. This affects the rest of the points.
  • Because mana management was not challenging, they had to find alternative methods to challenge players in encounters. This has ended up not being all the fun they expected.
  • Neither Spirit, MP5, nor mana recovery abilities have been used in Wrath of the Lich King because players have never run out of mana. Because of that too, no one has bothered to look at the over-healing (hello sorority!)
  • It also has an impact on PvP as, since healers can heal without problems, encounters can get really long.

What's included and what's not included in Patch 4.0.3a

wastelands_cataclysm

The other day, while chatting with Naini, we were wondering when the world would break because we are all clear that we will see Deathwing walk the world before December 7 arrives because, in fact, it is part of the pre-expansion event.

It seems like a player, Sammew, has collected what awaits us once Patch 4.0.3 arrivesa that very possible. With information completely scattered around the forums and the webs, it is a bit difficult to put on foot what we can expect from this new patch. Not only has it done a great job but it has also been expanded with information by the blues.

What's not in Patch 4.0.3a

  • Goblin / Worgen character creation
  • Goblins / Worgen starting areas
  • Archeology
  • Professions beyond 450
  • Guild Level Up
  • Flight in Azeroth
  • New zones over level 80

Now let's see, after the jump, what Patch 4.0.3a does change.

Developer Q&A Session at Best Buy

To calm the frightened spirits of the citizens of Azeroth, Production Director J. Allen brack and game director Tom Chilton as well as Zarhym and Lylirra have been on the forums of Best buy (a supermarket chain) answering some questions about Cataclysm.

Although most of the content is already covered, it does not hurt to refresh it and even discover a few things. You can see it after the jump or in the following link (in English)

Questions and Answers on Rated Battlegrounds

goblin-worgen-battlefield

We are only 19 days away from the arrival of Cataclysm and Blizzard has put together a very interesting Q&A about the Battlegrounds. Remember that it is one of the new features that Cataclysm brings us and that will allow us to equip ourselves with the entire set of Arenas equipment without having to step on any Arena.

Let's see a short summary:

  • There are 2 modes 10v10 and 15v15. The 25v25 mode has disappeared.
  • Each mode will be available eventually depending on the week but there will always be one of the two active modes (but never both)
  • To access a scored battlefield, you must form a gang outside of the battlefield and then enter it.

Cataclysm looms

As announced, Deathwing it's coming. Draztal summarizes the development of these next weeks before the launch of the next expansion.

With patch 4.0.1 out now and the official World of Warcraft: Cataclysm cinematic trailer released on http://www.youtube.com/WorldofwarcraftES Now is the time to find out what awaits you in the weeks until Cataclysm launches on December 7.

Elemental Restlessness
As earthquakes strike and the very foundations of Azeroth become increasingly unstable, key members of the Horde and Alliance have begun gathering in Orgrimmar and Stormwind to investigate the cause of these disturbances. The unleashed elementals are terrorizing the inhabitants of Azeroth, and it has become apparent that a malevolent presence is threatening to split the land. Strange suspects have headed to the Horde and Alliance capitals to offer an explanation of recent events to terrified citizens. A secret: everything is destruction and darkness.

The events leading up to Cataclysm are in progress, and the disturbances will only grow more severe as the weeks go by. Pay attention to your Faction Leaders, Thrall and Varian, and stay tuned for unfamiliar faces gathering on the streets of the city. This unique event series also includes several new missions and multiple phases of dark events - don't let your guard down!

Patch 4.0.3
This patch will contain the final preparations for the Cataclysm launch, including the new login screen and official cutscenes. The devastation of Azeroth will take place sometime after patch 4.0.3.

The devastation
Shortly before December 7, Azeroth will change forever. Deathwing will emerge from the Elemental Plane, bringing with him the Devastation of the world and scorching everyone and everything in his path. The events leading up to the launch of World of Warcraft: Cataclysm will reach their climax, and the citizens of Azeroth will face the destruction they have long feared.

Without a doubt, quite a few surprises await us. After the jump you have some clarifications from Proenix.

Pre-Cataclysm Event Guide: Elemental Invasion

That's how it is! A new event is taking place in the capital cities of each race. There are new characters who give missions, elementals everywhere, members of the Twilight's Hammer… THE END OF THE WORLD IS COMING! The Twilight's Hammer event starts in Orgrimmar or Stormwind, although you can actually spot any flaw that leads to a quest that leads you to your faction capital.

elemental-invasion-banner

The Speakers of Fate are appearing in the cities causing confusion among the peaceful citizens of Azeroth, and concern among the leaders of all factions gathered in the capitals. The responsibility to make the lives of citizens more peaceful is in your hands.

We assume that this event is part of several phases, as it already happened with the invasion of the Zombies in Wrath of the Lich King. As the event progresses, we will see new missions that will introduce us to the inevitable Cataclysm that is to come.

We are going to take a look at the missions that are available in this phase of the event. Wherever you start, you will be taken to the Bank of Stormwind or Orgrimmar and taken to the next NPC who will deliver you the first real mission of the event.

With the latest version of the Cataclysm Beta, some new things about Worgen have been included. The jokes and flirtations are already translated into Spanish and we have recorded them so that you can listen to them.

There are a lot of pretty funny jokes and the flirtations are priceless.

But there is still more! After the jump you can watch a video about the Worgen Dance and the way they run. It has been improved compared to the last version and it looks quite good. You can see it in high quality to appreciate the details to the fullest.

New changes to tank cooldowns coming to Cataclysm

Qoenonn gives us an early warning of some changes coming to the cooldown abilities of tanks in Cataclysm, with Patch 4.0.3a. It appears that there is currently a balance issue when tanks accumulate Mastery and cause unthinkable block values.

Although initially they only affected Warriors and Paladins, they have already offered details of other changes for the other two tanks as you can see later.

Let's look at the blue:

As the launch of World of Warcraft: Cataclysm nears, we continue to adjust the different class abilities. Based on the information and our own testing, we are in the process of evaluating and modifying the cooldown times for the tanks; particularly at level 85. Some of these abilities, such as the druid's Wild Defense, and the death knight's own healing, are particularly difficult to model, so further testing will be necessary before there is enough information in which base adjustments.

In the case of paladins and warriors, we have seen that it is possible that the block chance is too high too fast, causing a situation where the warrior's accumulated Mastery and Shield Block ability behave strangely. Since we want to avoid that scenario, we are going to make some changes to how lockability works for these classes:

Paladins - Sacred Shield will be modified to increase the shield block value by 10% (40% total) instead of increasing the block chance by 15%. Since this will make Mastery more valuable, the amount of block provided by Mastery will be reduced to a 2.25% block chance per Mastery point, instead of 3%.

Warriors - At level 85, the value of Shield Block decreases as the value of the block generated by mastery increases. To remedy this, we'll convert excess Block + Evasion that exceeds 100% into Critical Block Chance. Along with that change, shield block will be reduced to + 25% block chance (was 100%), but will still be a noticeable improvement for most warriors. Additionally, in response to this change, the amount of Block and Critical Block provided by Mastery will be matched, now granting 1.5% Block Chance per point.

Shortly after, Zarhym has expanded this information in the American forums. You have the information after the jump.

Class specific missions have been removed

Draztal explains to us from the forums one of the undocumented changes of the Patch 4.0.1, the elimination of class specific missions. However, with the release of the next expansion will include new missions and class-specific rewards.

Azeroth is in the throes of a dramatic transformation, and as World of Warcraft changes, sometimes the old must make room for the new. Since the elements of the world that support them will be gone, many aged missions will exist only in the mists of the past.

In particular, there has been some confusion about specific low-level class missions that can no longer be completed. Fear not: class mounts and abilities are still available through class trainers, even though the missions associated with them are no longer available. Additionally, there are also various low and medium level weapons, trinkets, and dresses that were previously awarded through class-specific quests that will no longer be available and their associated quests have been removed.

You can read more details about what will happen in Cataclysm after the jump.

Cataclysm: Breakthrough on The Stone Core

corborus stonecore

Blizzard has published an official trailer on one of the first dungeons that we will have the opportunity to visit in Cataclysm: The Stonecore. This dungeon is located in Deepholm and the truth is that it is quite fun.

I've had the chance to play it several times and despite the bugs, it's a pretty fun dungeon. It is a dungeon that has 4 bosses and in which we will see an old acquaintance (only for those who played in The Burning Crusade): Mana Storm Mill that was locked up by mistake in Arcatraz. This Gnome seems to have joined the ranks of the Twilight's Hammer (we still don't really know why).

Patch 4.0.1: Frequently Asked Questions about the Starter Program

With the introduction of the new Starter Program in Patch 4.0.1, you may have questions about its operation. Katriedna brings us a list of the most frequently asked questions.

Frequently Asked Questions about the Starter Program

Q. The new Starter Program transmits data using P2P (Peer to peer / Point to point). Do I only send data when I am downloading information or will I be uploading data to other players at all times?
R.
As with the previous system, you will stop sending data once you have completed the download.

Q. Will P2P be used to download data while I am playing?
R:
In time, yes. But not during this initial launch.

Q. The current Background Download Wizard allows me to continue downloading after exiting the game. Can this option be added to the new system?
R.
We plan to add this option in the future. Until then, you will need to open the Launcher Program after exiting the game if you want to continue with the download.

After the jump you can read the rest of the frequently asked questions.

Patch 4.0.1: New Startup program

With the transition to Patch 4.0.1, there are also changes to the Starter Program. The novelty is that it will now allow you to play while downloading game content.

With the new patch 4.0.1 we are introducing a new World of Warcraft launcher that will allow you to download game data as you play. This will reduce the time you spend downloading, installing, and patching World of Warcraft.

Start program

We have redesigned the launcher to provide a visual update on the installation progress. You will find a new progress bar divided into sections (red, yellow and green) that represent the amount of data you currently have installed.

After the jump you can read more information about the stages of the download progress.

Patch 4.0.1: Guild Changes

Patch 4.0.1 also brings improvements to the Guilds. A List of professions, News System y Next events, and in general the management of them will be improved.

Guilds are a mainstay of the World of Warcraft community. Whether you're a dedicated dungeon player or part of a calm progress guild, we've made a number of changes to improve your guild experience. In patch 4.0.1, players will find that Guilds are no longer part of the social window, but will now have their own dedicated interface (default: J). This interface has been completely redesigned to increase efficiency, aesthetic appeal, and easier navigation for all guild members.
For this message, we'll be looking at three main features: the Professions List, Guild News and Upcoming Events, and Improved Guild Controls. Since the new interface contains a wealth of impressive enhancements, we believe that these particular features should be highlighted. This also gives us the opportunity to provide some additional clarification.

After the jump all the detailed changes.

Patch 4.0.1: Attribute Changes

With the arrival of the new Patch 4.0.1, the statistics will no longer be as we know them. Some will change, others will disappear from the objects and others will even disappear from the game ...

Endurance: Due to the allocation of Strength, Agility, and Intellect, characters without plate armor will now see an increase in Stamina. The amount of health will be much more balanced between characters who wear plate armor and those who do not.

You can see the rest of the changes after the jump.

Patch 4.0.1: Glyph Changes

With the entry of Patch 4.01, the Glyph System that we currently know undergoes a drastic change. We will see what the registrants think of these changes ...

In the upcoming patch 4.0.1, we will introduce the redesign of the current glyph system. This update brings several changes, including the addition of a new glyph tier, the transition of glyphs from consumable items to permanent spells, and an improved user interface.

After the jump the changes in more detail.

Patch 4.0.1: Changes to class mechanics

With the introduction of the new Patch, classes will undergo many changes. From the forums we get a list of all of them.

Patch 4.0.1 will bring significant changes to all classes in World of Warcraft, including redesigns of the talent trees, modified spells, and improved abilities. So we want to review some of the more complex changes that are being made. If your class is not listed here, it does not mean that we have not invested so much time in it, the class will receive a wide range of talents, spells and abilities, we simply believe that these mechanics deserve further explanation.

After the jump, all classes changes.

Pst! We are already here! Introducing Raideando.com

raiding

The time has come. It has been 5 days in which we have been finalizing details for the launch of this new tool, which promises to remove the foundations of Azeroth… [Naini emerges from stealth and dispenses the Curse of Deathwing to Belelros]

Where he was going? Ahh yes! Today we present: raideando.com

What is Raideando.com and what is it for?

For a long time, especially since I posted this article almost a year ago on how to create a guild website in World of Warcraft, we have observed that many people hit the language barrier when creating a fairly complete website since the entire administration it was in english.
For those who master the language it is not much of a problem, but for those who do not speak it, Raideando has the solution.

From Raideando.com you can create a website for your brotherhood completely free of charge. The web, apart from having a complete phpBB3 forum, contains a complete content management, recruiting, band and DKP system, which places it at the forefront of the free services offered so far. And the best thing is (apart from the fact that it is free) that it is completely in Spanish.

In addition, this tool is prepared and can be extended to other well-known MMORPG games such as Aion, Warhammer Online or Age of Conans.

Tenacious D will close BlizzCon 2010 with a concert

Blizzard has announced that Tenacious D will close out the BlizzCon 2010 ceremony. The pair will close the event on Saturday afternoon (early morning for us). DirecTV subscribers will be able to watch it live.

If you are like me who, at first you did not fall in who they are Tenacious D do not worry because it is normal. Maybe Jack Black sounds much more familiar to you.

It may not be as good as the lord of darkness he played last year, but they sure do make us have a good time and have a laugh.

You have the official press release after the jump.

BlizzCon Online Store Open 48 Hours for Presale

Blizzard has announced that there will be a 48 hour pre-sale of all items that will be available at BlizzCon this year. If you have a ticket you can buy these objects between Today and Monday (October 9 and October 11).

If you have a virtual ticket you can also buy this year's epic loot. These users will be able to buy from October 13.

World of Warcraft Reaches 12 Million Subscribers

Blizzard just announced that World of Warcraft has reached a new milestone, which shows that the number of players continues to grow after more than 5 years of existence. That's right, World of Warcraft has reached the magical figure of 12 Million players in the world.

Today we announced in an official press release that World of Warcraft has achieved another historic milestone by reaching 12 million subscribers worldwide.

We want to thank you all for making this possible and for all the support and enthusiasm shown throughout these years. We look forward to continuing to deliver the most epic entertainment experiences for much longer.

You can consult the official press release at: http://eu.blizzard.com/es-es/company/press/pressreleases.html?101007

In case there is anyone who wants to know the definition of subscriber for Blizzard, you can read it after the jump.

BlizzCon 2010: Warming Up

Yesterday we gave some details on BlizzCon 2010 and, in the comments Doubts arose about what would be the coverage of the event by the web and about the schedules. I am sure that many of you will be watching what is going on at the Anaheim Convention Center, so we have decided that it is a good time to clarify certain doubts.

Event Coverage

Like the previous year, GuíasWoW will attend BlizzCon 2010. Although we wanted to be more those who invaded the United States, they will finally go GOGOGOGO Eneia and Belelros while Naini, Topi and Zeroner will be with Streaming.

We will hold a live event to broadcast live everything that happens on the stages of the Anaheim Convention Center. We may have a little surprise this year but nothing has been confirmed or decided about it yet, so we better reserve it for now. In this event, it will be possible for you to ask us questions so that we can answer you, about the information that is provided to us and even leave us the questions that you want us to ask the developers (if the opportunity arises to interview them).

Let's see the schedules:

Major Faction Quarters with Low Level Rewards in Cataclysm

bag-undercity-16

The other day, while I was making Topi come to… well, it doesn't matter. The fact is that Topi ran into (bad joke) with an Intendant of the Undercity in the city of ... Undercity! This is certainly something new. The undead sold 5 items.

  • A tabard of the city (Friendly)
  • A bag of 16 holes unique pretty cheap (Revered)
  • Agility, Strength, and Intellect Level 40 Layers (Exalted)

What perhaps strikes me the most are the reputation levels at which you can acquire these items. At level 40 we will already be exalted with the faction of our race and we will be able to sink our teeth into delicious rewards.

This is one of Blizzard's samples to help make the leveling up in Cataclysm as pleasant and smooth as possible for players new to World of Warcraft.

After the jump you have the layers.

trials-champion-building

Flexible banding system with Patch 4.0.1

trials-champion-building

In the upcoming Patch 4.0.1, Blizzard will announce a new flexible raid registration system. It will be applied to Icecrown and the Ruby Shrine, and will serve as a model for the Cataclysm raids.

Let's see a summary of what they introduce:

  • All Cataclysm gangs will use this system. (They can always change their mind but it is the intention)
  • All Wrath of the Lich King raids will have this system when Cataclysm arrives. (Nothing is known about The Burning Crusade or Classics)
  • From now on, registration is by Bosses killed and not by specific zones, size or group.
  • This system does not apply to Heroics.

You have all the ad after the jump.

faces-chogall_copy

Blizzard expands information on Cho'gall

Blizzard, through the official forums, warn us that the information about Cho'gall (the first of the Magi-Ogre) has been updated to tell us a little more about his dark personality.

Cho'gall's sordid story is a legacy of his irrepressible desire to wreak havoc wherever his sinister influence can reach. The foremost of the ogres magi made a name for himself in the old Horde as the chieftain of the Twilighthammer orc clan. However, his murky loyalty was evident when he left the Horde at a crucial moment in the Second War.

For more information on the main characters of Cataclysm, visit our page "Protagonists of Cataclysm": http://www.wow-europe.com/cataclysm/features/lore.html?locale=es_ES

December 7th possible Cataclysm release date

The guys at Wowhead, while looking at the texts of the last patch notes that have reached the Cataclysm Beta, have found this text so curious:

Arena Battles and Rated Battlegrounds are only available during an active Player vs. Player combat season. The Season 9 will begin on December 14, so get ready then to have your chance for glory! "

Okay Bel, thanks for telling us that Season 9 of Arenas begins on December 14, what does that have to do with it?

Look look ...

We are currently thinking of ending Season 8 of Arenas on October 12. At this point we will begin our normal process to determine who is eligible for end-of-season rewards. This process should take about a week. It is very important for players who believe they may be eligible for specific Arenas and / or Wrathful Gladiator's Frost Wyrm titles to refrain from transferring their characters to another realm or faction until the end of Season 8 ends. .

The next Arena Season will begin for players level 85 approximately one week after the official launch of World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. During the break between the two seasons, all rated matches and the Arenas will no longer be available. All team, personal and Arena point ratings will be reset when Season 9 begins but points converted to the current system will remain.

This gives us December 7 as a tentative date for the Cataclysm launch.

But there is still more!

Updated Emblems to Justice Points Conversion

Yesterday afternoon, a Contact Form of Torvalaar in which they warned us of a new change in the conversion of Emblems to Points of Justice. Many of you already pointed out in the comments in which we talked about all available objects, that in the RPPs there seemed to be a conversion ratio different from the one already exposed.

In turn, Emblems of Triumph and Emblems of Frost would award 2,75 points of Justice each. This number has been updated as well as the amount of gold you receive per Emblem if you exceed the limit. We have updated the original article so no one ever gets in trouble.

We have revised the conversion rate of Justice Points to Emblems of Triumph and Frost. When the next patch 4.0.1 goes live, these emblems will be converted to 11.58 justice points (well above what was previously planned as 2.75 points per emblem). Accumulated justice points above the permissive limit of 4000 will be converted to gold at the rate of 47,5 silver per point (reduced from 2 gold per point) when patch 4.0.3 is activated.

And why this change? You will ask.

Bashiok has the answer… after the jump.

pvecurrency-justice

First items purchased with Valor and Justice Points in Cataclysm

pvecurrency-justice pvecurrency-value Courage and Justice point item vendors have recently been placed in the Cataclysm Beta. Do you remember the converting Emblems into points? If so, we can begin to calculate what is most worthwhile. Sell, spend or wait? This is the dilemma.

The 4 Intendants are:

Let's remember the division of the points.

  • Justice Points - "Low-level" PvE Equipment (comparable to those purchased now by Emblems of Triumph)
  • Valor Points - "High-level" PvE Equipment (comparable to those purchased now by Frost Emblems)

Now we are going to see how much the objects cost. It must be made clear that this is subject to change and that only corresponds to the first level of progression of Cataclysm.

  • Items purchased with Justice points (Blue iLvL 346)
    • Justice Points 950 - Weapon, Shield, Weapon-secondary (Off-hand)
    • Justice Points 1,250 - Necklace
    • Justice Points 1,650 - Belt, Hands, Shoulder Pads
    • Justice Points 2,200 - Legs, Chest, Helmet
  • Items purchased with value points (Epic iLvL 359)
    • Valor Points 700 - Relic
    • Valor Points 1,250 - Cloak, Ring
    • Valor Points 1,650 - Boots, Hands, Beads
    • Valor Points 2,200 - Legs, Chest
    • Tier Token - Head, Shoulderpads

If we look at the conversion, 1,000 Emblems of Frost or Triumph will give us 11,580 points of Justice.

After the jump you have a gallery with all the objects that are available right now.

no-portals-dalaran

Farewell to the Shattrath and Dalaran portals in Cataclysm

no-portals-dalaran

With the latest version of Cataclysm that has arrived this weekend, Blizzard has decided to eliminate the portals that direct you to the main cities that are in Dalaran and Shattrath. Instead, we will find trainers for classes.

It really comes as no surprise as Blizzard has announced on several occasions that they wanted players to focus on Azeroth so that it felt something alive and not empty as before. Many players might leave their Hearthstones in one of these cities so they can move around the world quickly.

However, I hope they add portals because traveling from Stormwind for example to Darnassus or The Exodus is hard. At least the new zones have portals to and from each faction's capital cities (Orgrimmar and Stormwind).

How do you see this new measure?

After the jump you have more images that he has sent us mendiola.

The second phase of the pre-Cataclysm event begins in the PTRs

deathwing_deathwing_artwork_montana

mendiolaAlways on the alert, it alerts us that the pre-Cataclysm event of the Public Test Realms has advanced to the next phase. Fire rages through Orgrimmar, the Alliance leaders have been summoned by Magni Bronzebeard for an emergency meeting, and the elements are revealing themselves against Azeroth.

Cataclysm has started.

As Mendiola has been able to tell us, there are several events that are taking place:

  • From time to time, waves of attacks occur on the cities of Ironforge and Stormwind. In them we participate in events global that require the help of all to alleviate them.
  • Some villages of the Alliance and Horde are besieged by elementals.
  • There are new bosses accessible from the Dungeon Finder for classic dungeons, with new bosses available:
    • Great Firefly Ambassador in Blackrock Depths.
    • Crown Prince Theradras at Maraudon
    • Prince Sarasol in the Ruins of Ahn'Quiraj
    • Kai'ju Gahz'rilla in Zul'Farrak
  • Bosses grant level 251 rings and pendants for adventurers.

Mendiola, has sent us many images and even a video of the event in Ironforge in High Definition.

The end has come! Run while you can!

Cataclysm: Welcome to the new Handyman town!

Handyman Greater Mekkatorque

Does Operation Gnomeregan sound familiar to you? Blizzard has released a trailer for the New Handyman City. Tinker Major Mekkatorque and his troops have secured a control area on the outskirts of Gnomeregan to prepare for the retake of the city. Mekkatorque will make us complete new missions in which is the new starting area for the Gnomes for levels 1-5.

You can read more about the details in the Official Site or after the jump.

Do you think that one day Gnomeregan will be the city of Gnomes permanently?

armory-mobile-3d-9

Mobile Armory update with 3D Models and much more

armory-mobile-3d-9 A new version of the World of Warcraft Mobile Armory has arrived on iTunes, with 3D models for all characters (same as in the current armory), activity channel, professions panel and some optimizations for iOS 4.0.

In this new update we can now take screenshots of our character with various wallpapers of the most important cities.

Perhaps this update will also serve the recently revealed Mobile Guild Chat and that could soon be available for those who have the service of the Remote Auction House. I hope we will know more news about this soon.

After the jump you have the official announcement and a series of screenshots showing the new features.

Edito: Via Twitter, @ardon and @titehunter alert us (thank you!) that on the iPhone 3G the 3D viewer does not work well at all since the «desktop» background begins to appear.
As soon as we have more news about this "bug" we will notify you.

Blizzard Announces Automatic Account Recovery for Hacked Accounts

recovery-accounts-battle-net-USA

Unfortunately, sometimes hackers and gold dealers get hold of our passwords by looting our account of objects, gold and everything they take to be able to resell it later. Blizzard has been battling these in a never ending fight, and sadly, it happens too much and takes a lot of time for the customer support team.

Blizzard has announced a new way to be answered and helped with our hacked account, stolen items, Authenticator problems and much more. Now, with the new system, you don't even have to call Blizzard or email them - we now have the Account recovery form.

This service, which is currently only available in the US, makes recovering Battle.net accounts a breeze. As soon as it is available in Europe we will let you know.

You have the full announcement after the jump.

Heroic Dungeons Activated in the Cataclysm Beta

Valnoth, has announced that Heroic Dungeons are available to players of the Cataclysm beta. He warns us that it is highly recommended that we create a predefined character (ha) for these tests since they come with much better equipment (iLVL 333), Which is the minimum equipment considered to enter the heroics of Cataclysm.

Heroics are now available.

In addition, the predefined characters should be characters with level 333 equipment with blue quality, which is the minimum expected to be able to advance through the heroics successfully. I highly recommend copying a new preset character if you want to give Heroics a try.

Character copies should be reset.

Soon we will have more news as we will try to make the heroics and record them so that you can laugh at ease. Again, it seems that the final version of Cataclysm is closer than we thought.

Does anyone dare to accompany us to die? 😛

After the jump you have the list of heroic dungeons available

Pre-Cataclysm events begin in PTRs

Yaiks! I see Cataclysm closer and closer and events like this make us think about how close the long-awaited expansion is. This morning, a blue on the forums announced that they had been activated in the Public Test Realms, the first phases of the pre-Cataclysm event.

I'm sure Blizzard is saving the best for the live event, but if you want to try it now, before you can't see the ground in Stormwind due to the amount of people there, I recommend that you stop by the PTR to do so.

Good news,
The early phases of the pre-Cataclysm events have begun in the Trial Realms.

If you find any problem with the events or have any feedback, please leave it in this thread.

Enjoy!

After the jump, you have a gallery of images that mendiola has been kind enough to send.

Cataclysm: New Beta Version (12984)

As usual, this past Saturday a new version of the Cataclysm Beta has arrived on the servers. The 12984 version looks really good and has some really cool changes.

Racial

  • Human:
  • No dead people:
    • Cannibalism now also regenerates mana. (7% health and mana every 2 seconds for 10 seconds)
  • Tauren
    • Farming It continues to increase the herbalism but also increases the speed of collecting herbs.
  • Gnomes:
    • Short Blade Specialization - Increases proficiency with Daggers and One-Handed Swords by 3 points.
  • Worgen
    • Running Wild - Get on all fours and run as fast as a wild animal (Mount)

Finally the Worgen will not have any mount but they will have this racial. This has been explained and confirmed by Zarhym in various blues that I leave here. Worgen will be able to use the other mounts in the same way.

Running Wild is in fact the new racial "mount" for Worgen. Functionally the ability works the same as a mount. This means that Worgen will not bring faction mounts to the table that other races in the alliance can access. This is of course very different from the original Plains Run implemented for the Taurens. We have NO plans to attempt to bring that ability back in any way.

Lastly, we believe that Running Wild fits in very well with the nature of the Worgen race. Instead of having a physical mount, they go down and run on all their legs. When you're playing Worgen it's really impressive. Smile

After the jump you can see more things like ... the female worgen!

battle-map-gilneas

Cataclysm: Battle for Gilneas Preview

battle-map-gilneas

Blizzard has revealed another of its advances. This time it is the turn of one of the new Battlegrounds that will come in Cataclysm: The Battle for Gilneas. This battlefield that takes place in the city of Gilneas, faces 10 players from each faction. It bears many similarities to the Arathi Basin as you must control catchable points to accumulate points and the first to reach 2,000 points will be victorious.

You can read all the progress after the jump or in the Official Site from Blizzard.

Old currency conversion rate

Just yesterday, Blizzard announced that the planned currency changes for Cataclysm were going to be included in the next major patch of content for Wrath of the Lich King. If this sounds like Chinese to you, you can read the announcement and comments at our website.

Now to add more information, Tylliru has explained exact conversion rates on forums.

This is the conversion rate:

Gold Emblems

PvP currencies? Honor Points (limited to 4,000)

More after the jump!

Blue Collection of the Week

Good morning everyone! In these weeks the forums have not stopped their activity and, although sometimes we do not publish each one because of the work that this entails for the "little" information they can contribute, this time we have collected a few of the blue ones that have enough information.

These first two leave you a bit ... well, you better read them yourself.

Quote: Zul Gurub is eliminated as a Level 60 raid. I have not heard of Ahn'Quiraj 20.

Ahn'Quiraj, 20, has been converted to a 10-player gang.

This is an intentional change, however, the values may not be final. The nodes will give experience when you collect them (mines and herbs).

Before you start with the barrage of questions, it is still not clear if the dungeon will be readjusted to level 85 or it will stay for level 60 as it is currently but, honestly, I do not see the change very productive if you are going to leave it for level 60 later. If so, dungeons like Molten Core or Blackwing Lair should be left at 25 player size ...

On the other hand, it is very interesting that now, when collecting herbs or ore nodes we obtain a profession, but I hope this is extendable to Skinning and Disenchanting, right?

After the jump I leave you several more blue ones on the PTR of 4.0.1 and the pre-Cataclysm Patches.

transformation-dark-dark-transformation-deathknight

New mascot for Death Knight in Cataclysm with Dark Transformation

transformation-dark-dark-transformation-deathknight The Death Knights are in luck. In the latest version of the Cataclysm Beta, some major change has been included for the Unholy Branch. One of the most important changes is your pet that will digivolve transform thanks to the new ability known as Dark Transformation. This ability allows him to become an abomination that will improve his abilities and will cause him to inflict 100% more damage during the 30 seconds that the transformation lasts.

Under the power of transformation, the pet's abilities are:

  • Roer: 125% hit and 4 second stun. (In normal state it only stuns 3 seconds)
  • Snuggle: Reduces all damage taken by 50% for 10 seconds. (In normal state it also does it but does not move)
  • Paw: Hit 150% damage and hit two additional targets in addition to the main one. (In normal state it only deals 125% damage and only hits one target)
  • Skip: Charge that immobilizes and interrupts the cast for 2 seconds. (In normal state, just jump after the enemy.

As Gaza tells us on your blog, this transformation of the pet is intended for bosses since to carry out this transformation, it is necessary for the pet to have five charges of Shadow Infusion (a new talent from the Unholy branch) that is achieved with 5 death spirals .

Gaza has also recorded a video so we can see how the mascot works.

You can see it after the jump:

Patch 4.0.1 is enabled in the Public Test Realms

logocataclysmguiaswow El Patch 4.0.1 It is now available in the Public Realms, not in the Beta Realms but in the normal Trial Realms. Those who don't have a Cataclysm beta yet can try some of the new Cataclysm features (although they won't be able to level up).

Basically, this patch is the one that we will see shortly before Cataclysm arrives and that will introduce us to the changes in talents, abilities, etc. but without changing the world we know.

Here's a list of what you can and cannot do in the public test realms:

  • The world continues as before.
  • Changes to classes, their talents, and glyphs have been implemented.
  • New graphics are not available
  • Not available Archeology
  • Guild leveling system is not available
  • Flight is not available in Azeroth
  • There is no new content available

If you want to try it, get ready to download 16 Gb, which is what the entire client weighs. What is available is the new download system so you can get to enter before you download those 16 GB. The copy of predefined characters is not yet available but they assure that it will be soon.

If you want to download it you have to go to the PTR page.

Edito: After the jump you have the patch notes in Spanish.

preview_ashenvale

Ashenvale's Official Cataclysm Preview

preview_ashenvale

Blizzard has taken out another interview about a zone advance. This time the interviewees are the mission designers Eric Maloof and Steve Burke who are going to tell us about the changes in the areas that are about to be reached. Ashenvale in Cataclysm.

Eric and Steve tell us about the new volcano that has risen north of Ashenvale and how the Horde is taking key positions that once belonged to the Alliance. Also, they chat about the biggest changes in Ashenvale and according to the designers, the area is a little less frustrating but the story hasn't changed much.

You can see, the whole interview after the jump.

Cataclysm: New version of Beta 12942

Good good good ... We still had almost no burned 12857 when a new version appears. You may have already read the changes that this version brings, but I don't care! we have not been able to publish them before for personal reasons.

But here they are!

Summary of new features

One of the most important novelties is the inclusion of a new Flight Master License which is required to fly in Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms and which is available to players of level 60 and above for 250 . It seems to me an affordable price but… I can't quite see the logic.

Another of the most important novelties is the inclusion of Honor titles. Zarhym explains it to us in a post on the forum.

Honor titles have been added to World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. These titles are earned when specific Battleground achievements are completed and are activated when certain milestones are reached on the Battlegrounds. The titles will remain the same as the original PvP titles, however players who obtained these titles from the original Battlegrounds scoring system will not lose them. The Feats of Strength associated with the original titles have been altered to show that they were achieved with the previous system, although the titles themselves will remain the same.

Now, the first ranks - Soldier for the Alliance and Tracker for the Horde - are reached when a player reaches the Battleground rating of 1,100. Ranks increase every 100 index points to Grand Marshal / Grand Warlord upon reaching 2,400 index points. The titles won through the new system can be kept as they will not be reset with each season.

Also, all new titles and Achievements will be added to the best. Hero of the Alliance and Hero of the Horde will be rewarded to players who finish a season in the top .5% of the Rated Battlegrounds ranking. These titles will be reset at the end of each season, however, a new achievement will be awarded to players who win this title each season. Let's see how many seasons you can stay in the top .5%!

More after the jump.

Winners of the Dress up your character contest

We already have winners!

First of all, forgive the delay, but they have all really been very, very good jobs and I had to look at them with a magnifying glass to see which is the best of both modalities (literally, I have spent the night awake deciding which is the best in each category).

But they are already here! The winners are:

First mode: The best of the best until Deathbringer Saurfang on Normal

Trrrrrrrrr (drum roll)

Explaining the new Cataclysm Glyphs interface

In the latest version of the Beta, the 12857 (I have had a deja vu) the Glyphs interface. There was a lot of talk about the Glyphs during the Q&A on Twitter or in individual posts on the forums and we had a vague idea of what was going to happen: Glyphs could be learned. Now that they are implemented, I thought (sometimes I do) what better way to show it than in a video? (I'm getting the taste).

And here you have it. I recommend that you watch it in High definition so that you can better appreciate the details.

I hope you liked it. After the jump I put down the transcript.

retakes-gnomeregan-live-usa-5

Extra extra! Operation Gnomeregan and the Fall of Zalazane are activated!

A while ago, our collaborator from the United States, warned me that Operation Gnomeregan and Zalazane's Fall it has been activated after maintenance in the American Kingdoms. This being the case, we will surely have it active on our servers tomorrow.

Here are some screenshots of the current gnome event of course… you wouldn't think we were going to post photos of the horde event right?

retakes-gnomeregan-live-usa-5

These missions are part of the introductory events to Cataclysm. Tomorrow, don't forget to head to Kharanos in Dun Morogh or the Echo Isles in Durotar to take part in these events that are only active for a limited time.

I remind you that you can revisit our articles on the Operation Gnomeregan and Reconquest of the Echo Islands.

What is the first thing you will do?

After reading the people in the minichat, I just want to warn you that this does not mean that Cataclysm is coming out in two weeks or anything like that, only that Cataclysm's exit is near ...

After the jump you have a couple more captures

stormwind_before_after-cataclysm-banner

New textures on the ground of Stormwind in Cataclysm

With the latest version of the Cataclysm beta, some textures have been greatly improved. As we walk through Stormwind, we will notice these changes. It's great how good the Alliance Capital looks with these new textures and Blizzard is undoubtedly doing an excellent job of bringing the game to new graphics for now unknown in the franchise.

Do you see the difference in this image?

stormwind_before_after-cataclysm-banner

Camera in hand we have dedicated ourselves to touring Stormwind on both the current server and the Beta to take photos of the same places so you can appreciate the changes. Keep in mind that in both cases the graphics have been used in the best possible configuration so that you can appreciate the level of detail in both cases. I have to highlight how good the shadows and the sun's rays look, which you can still see in some image.

After the jump you have a small gallery with several images of these moments that we have collected.

Cataclysm: Catch of the Week

ss1433

Blizzard brings us the screenshots from this week. This one you see above is one of the Twilight Highlands.

Will we meet many members of the Twilight's Hammer cult?

The rest of the screenshots of the expansion, which you can see after the jump, belong in order to The wastelands, Ashenvale, two captures of Cenarius en hyjal, Gilneas y Orc halters.
